His knuckles connected with skin, and for the first time in days, Logan felt alive.

He honestly couldn't remember what the fight had started over, but it had begun in a bar and spilled out onto the street in a matter of moments. He wasn't winning, Logan was sure of that, but he honestly didn't care. Even as he crashed to the pavement and the other man's boot made contact with his gut, Logan only laughed through the pain.

His lip was bleeding, and his cheek was already bruised- Still, the fight wasn't slowing down at all, and likely wouldn't end until someone stepped in- Or one of them stopped breathing.

"Uh- No, not that I know of. You ever been to Neptune in California?" he asked in return.

Jack shook his head even as the name Neptune tickled something in the back of his mind. But he couldn't place it, couldn't stick it down, and a moment later it was gone.

"I haven't been to California in years."

[logan_echolls]

"Weird," Logan replied, his gaze lingering on Jack just a moment too long, then flickering away.

"Must be remembering someone else I guess."

"But it's weird, don't you think? This...it's not deja vu. I don't know what it is," he said, shaking his head.

[logan_echolls]

"Like remembering things that happened to someone else," Logan said- Because that's what the dreams had been like. Dreams that he was sure featured this man.

"Yeah, exactly that," he agreed softly. Jack lead the way to the antiseptics and gauze so he could clean Logan's wounds.

His own split lip was already healed completely.

"You know, considering the blow you took out there, you don't look too bad for it," Logan noted, nodding at the other man's already healed face- but only assuming the damage hadn't been as bad as it had first looked.

"He barely hit me at all," he said with a shrug. "It stung, but I'll be fine. Let's go buy these and I'll fix you up in the bathroom."

"Bathroom? No, I'm good with not risking infection even more. We can go back to mine. It's really close to here anyway," Logan replied.

"Yeah? Okay..." he replied.

Jack paid for the supplies then lead the way out, but once on the street he didn't know where to go.

"You're going to have to lead the way," he said. He was unable to shake the feeling. They'd discounted it, yes, but it still clung.

"I'm living at the Ritz," Logan said, though he still lead the way.

"How long have you been in London?" he asked after a moment.

"This is actually my first night," he said. "I've been stationed in Cardiff and I just arrived this morning. Haven't even unpacked."

"Oh, right. Cool," Logan nodded, stealing glances every chance he got as his mind continued to try and place the other man.

The Ritz really wasn't all that far and Jack followed along, into the lift.

"You keep looking at me like that," he noted. "I swear we haven't met before, Logan. I'd remember."

[logan_echolls]

"I've seen you though- and I swear this isn't some cheesy line, dude- I'd swear you've been in my dreams," Logan said quietly, the words echoing in the elevator.

"In your dreams," he repeated, and then he realized that was exactly it. He'd dreamed of Logan before, too. He couldn't get a concrete memory, but he'd dreamed...

"This is absurd."

Rich words coming from a man like Jack.

"I know- I know," Logan sighed, falling silent as the doors slid open, then letting them both into his suite.

Jack opened the paper bag with the medical supplies and began to lay things out.

"Come here. Let me see to that. You'll get an infection if we don't clean you up," he said, trying to put dreams out of his mind...and failing.

Logan went to the mini bar and grabbed a beer first, but eventually made his way over to Jack and sat down across from him.

Jack soaked a gauze pad and then took Logan's hand. There was something achingly familiar in the weight of the man's hand and Jack paused for a moment before setting to the task of cleaning his wounds.

Logan felt it too, his fingers curling slightly, as if they itched to hold on.

"You find an apartment here yet?" he asked, clering his throat and opening his beer with his free hand.

"The place I work for set me up with a place," he replied, carefully dabbing Logan's knuckles. Then he moved the gauze and gently blew on them to dry them.

He wasn't sure what possessed him to do that.

Logan tensed, then pulled away slightly.

"Right, that's... That's cool, man," he said awkwardly. "You want a beer?"

"Sure," he said. He rarely drank anything other than water but at the moment a beer sounded like a very good idea.

Logan nodded, and as soon as his hand was wrapped, he moved to grab Jack a beer.

"You ever been to Hawaii? Like, uh, recently or whatever?" he tried curiously. "Somewhere tropical, with a jungle, and, like... A beach. Not like the beaches in Cali though."
