Guilt layered over on top of guilt, but Jag wasn't sure he had the energy to deal with anything right then, much less navigate through his very complicated emotions when it came to Val. Besides, Val probably wouldn't want him to reach out, not with how he'd behaved. He might believe that it was because of a curse, but Jag knew better. This was the kind of thing he did. It had all been him. Feeling terrible about it didn't change what he'd done, and he looked away from Val again as more tears welled up in his eyes.
