Mini GP

It was that time of the year, a time that used to fill Valentine with joy. Christmas was so wonderful usually, after all, but not so much this year. He simply wasn't in the holiday spirit. However, he'd planned this charity event months ago, and there was no cancelling it now. 

It wasn't as flash as ones he'd held in prior years, his museum open to the public with collection buckets all over for people to give what they could to ensure a better holiday for those in need. Music filled the space, and there were performers all throughout the space. Yes, he'd had to up security for the evening to keep his many occult related items safe, but- Well, it was worth it, he supposed. If nothing else, it seemed to be enough to stop his mother from worrying so much about him for a bit.

All were welcome and admission was free. The bar was reasonably priced, and there were a few free nibbles donated by a local restaurant. All and all, not a bad night for the bored and the generously inclined.

"Not taken so much as lost," the titan said softly. "Chipped away, bit by bit, back on that rock."

Vanessa was quiet as she focused on her breathing - in and out, calmly. What she had felt touching his runes, and that rush of thoughts and sensations around the vase, she let all of it wash through her and retreat. There was nothing to say to that, so she simply stated,"Might I suggest that the middle of a fundraiser might not be the opportune moment for its retrieval?"

"Could be exciting though," the titan countered with a smirk. "A fun little thrill..."

Vanessa smiled, ducking her head briefly on a soft chuckle. "And how would you go about it, one wonders?"

"Wouldn't be so hard, a bit of electrical disturbance to take out the lights and security system, a bit of magic to unlock the case... Deft fingers to pluck the vase from it's velvet stand," he added, voice low and crisp as he leaned in closer to speak in her ear.

"I could be in and out in an instant."

[miss_ives]

Vanessa composed herself, then replied, on much the same tone, and into his ear, "Then I suppose the only reason you haven't yet is that I've taken you off course."

"You're quite the distraction," he assured her, punctuating the statement with a subtle wink. "Though I do think I ought to get to work shortly. ...This seems like my best chance."

Vanessa took a step back, and gave him a friendly smile. "Of course. Shall I find you at your shop tomorrow evening?"

"If I have time," the titan shrugged. He'd never been good at making plans, but he was even less inclined now. "Give me time to find the item you require, and when I do, I promise I'll find you, Miss. Ives."

[miss_ives]

Vanessa paused, assuming that that meant he would not be living upstairs from the shop, or resuming opening it. Then she nodded. "Thank you. I hope your retrieval goes well, Prometheus."

It was never wise to assume anything about the titan.
