It was a very good kiss, and by the time it broke Kersen wanted to do very bad things to him, only some of which involved blood. And the way he ducked his head after... it made Kersen's vampire nature very interested.

And when he noticed the vampires around them paying so much attention, it wasn't so much the envy that Kersen suddenly appreciated about this situation. It was about being seen as dominant, even for a moment. He was well aware of some of the reasons that many in the vampire community hadn't respected him when he'd tried to take control. And even though Eric was in charge now, Kersen wanted to maintain as much respect as he could.
