When it came to figuring out where he'd been the past few months, the truth was that the titan had made minimal progress. He knew he'd purchased a vase that contained some of his power, was fairly certain he'd briefly been in Germany, and, at some point, had developed a taste for glazed donuts.

Why hadn't he liked these before? They were wonderful...

He was returning from a trip to the shop that sold the glorious treats, getting ready to open his shop- Only to be greeted by a small pile of dead rooks. Prometheus would never admit to having any sort of avian based fears, but they did make him uneasy. Mostly the live sort were the ones that made his stomach flip, but a pile of dead ones was, well... Enough to leave him deeply unsettled.

"Well, this can't possibly be good," he sighed, sipping his coffee and nudging one of the dead animals with the toe of his shoe. "...Definitely a bad sign."

Frowning, he looked up at the sky and awkwardly flipped it off with the hand that was carrying his paper bagged donuts.

"Miserable, randy old cu- Oh, hello, sorry, I'm just about to open up..."

Sunny had heard of this shop by word of mouth. It was supposed to be one of the ones in London where someone seeking magical information could actually learn a thing. Not that you couldn't in even the worst New Age nonsense shop if you were willing to dig a little, but that wasn't what she needed. Or wanted.

All the same, the proprietor didn't seem to be what she'd expected. "Did you just flip off the sky and call it a cunt?"

... Not that there weren't reasons to do things like that ever, but there were still a whole bunch of reasons that fell under the umbrella of crazy.

That flex of power was immediately a relief that yes, she was in the right place and most of the way that he wasn't nuts. Still wasn't impossible. But she had this vague sense that she'd felt that power before. Which was strange, because she'd bet money that she'd never seen his face.

Still her expression was searching--and trying not to be--as she took the keys and unlocked the door with a mumbled, "Sure."

Sunny offered the keys back. "May I ask which deity you're railing at?"

Sunny's eyebrow arched at the epithet, but at least for the moment she put it to the side. Her eyes looked around the shop as she followed him inside. "I'm looking for information on bindings. Demonic bindings, specifically."

"Undo," Sunny answered at once. The ability to do something like this was not a power that she wanted.

Sunny straightened her shoulders, not noticing that she was doing so. "Because he's my friend. He's always been there for me when I needed someone. I don't know if I can do this for him, but I can't look him in the eye if I don't at least try."

Sunny considered that offer quietly, torn between snatching the book out of his hands and running for it, and being entirely suspicious. "Dare I ask why you're willing to do that for me?"

"... okay," said Alcuin, taking a step backwards. He had paused out of curiosity about the shop, but now the pile of dead birds plus the proprietor cursing at... him? No, probably not him. Anyway, he definitely seemed like he may intend to flee at this point. Well, except now he was terribly curious.

Alcuin took the coffee almost without thinking, more out of automatic politeness than anything else.

"It's a bit odd, isn't it?" he said. "The birds..."

"You're very welcome," Alcuin said politely. He glanced around the shop, taking in the odd surroundings and antiques.

"I, ah... " He wasn't entirely sure what to say. "I heard you might have books here about, oh... magic, and mythology, and that sort of thing."

At least he knew the proprietor wasn't a vampire, since he was out in the sunlight. Could never be too careful these days.

Alcuin hummed thoughtfully, not really sure what to say. Oh, what the hell. Worst case, the man would think he was crazy.

"Do you have anything about the fae?" he asked.

"Anything," Alcuin said, hoping this meant that he had something. "I just want to, ah, learn."

Alcuin watched him, taking note of his choice of words, and then walked over to examine the book. The price was steep, though it also appeared to be an old book, and it wasn't as if Alcuin cared much about money. "I can write you a check," he said, and fumbled in his bag for a checkbook.

"Not a particular interest of yours," he repeated as he reached for a pen. "But you've had experience with them?"
