Epimetheus wasn't like Prometheus when it came to powers and magic. He had power, sure, but he'd never mastered it the way his twin had. He hadn't needed to, really. He'd never been trapped in the mortal realm after all, he came and went as he pleased- Using portals. ...Portals he generally had others open for him. However, since he was traveling alone lately, the only way to pop back home for a bit was to crack one open himself, using the only spell he knew to do so. A very blunt spell, honestly, that Prometheus had scolded him time and time again for using. 'Spells like this aren't like garage door openers, you know. They don't just open one portal, they'll open any in range,' the other titan had scolded, though all Epimetheus had said in return was 'What's a garage door?'.

That had been some time ago, but Epimetheus had used the spell many times since. He'd never noticed any ill effects personally, and didn't have the foresight to see how it might go a bit wrong. So this morning when he'd popped home to see Pandora, he'd gone on as he always did- Oblivious to any trouble he might be causing elsewhere.

(Portals are opening and closing all over london, letting things into the city from other places, times, ect. The sky is the limit here! Have anything you want slip through into the city- Or maybe let your pups go stumbling through one themselves? The choice is yours! This post will be open all next week, so tag in and then check back often! As always, we trust you guys not to go too crazy with this power, but please, no wrecking the city or doing anything that might cause gamewide issues without checking in with us first. Also, like any plot, feel free to have your pups sit out or be completely oblivious to the chaos. Assume that Torchwood and the like are keeping it out of the papers. ;) Have fun!)

"Just ahead," Felix gasped, stumbling through the forest at Fin's side, steps uneven and breath short. But his aim was true, and the magic unfurled in a spiral ahead of them. Something hot and sickeningly damp breathed at Felix's back, and he knew they were out of time.

He curled an arm around Finlay's waist and shoved, hurling him forward to the portal.

Fin let out a startled sound, tumbling through the portal, refusing to let go of Felix's hand, even as he fell to the ground.

Felix knew it was irrational and probably stupid to tackle Finlay through the portal, but the woods were closing in around him and something akin to panic took over his rational mind.

The air was different when they crossed through, which Felix could sense even as they overbalanced together and toppled over. Grass, leaves, and small twigs crunched under his hands. The light was significantly brighter, and that heavy weight of shadow was immediately lifted. Felix felt unmistakably that they were home.

"Finlay?" he asked, lifting his head.

There was silence for a long moment, and then Fin let out a low moan of pain.

"Felix," he replied, letting the shield down and wincing at the ache in his back."Are you alright? ...Are we home?"

Felix pushed his weight off Fin as soon as he felt on solid ground and could manage to move, flopping over onto his back and looking up. Trees overhead, still, but just beyond the leaves stood brick and glass buildings, recognizable signs of civilization.

"Yes. I... think that's my flat," he sighed, somewhat dazedly. "I think we're in the garden behind where I live."

"Oh? Well, thank fuck for that, hmm?" he replied, letting out a laugh that was less a show of mirth and more a release of nervous tension.

Sitting up, Fin rubbed his eyes, even though he knew it neither helped or hindered the return of his vision. He couldn't see well, but he could feel the difference in the air. Yes, this felt like London.

"Felix, about that place... I'm no genius or expert, but- There was something about it. Something that felt- I don't know, connected to you. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just my magic playing tricks, but- I felt something."

Felix hesitated to admit that he had felt something, too. That his magic had felt, not more powerful, but more comfortable there -- in a way Felix had never experienced before. If he'd never crossed through the portal, he never would have known the difference.

He pushed himself up as well, giving himself a brief excuse not to answer. No one really knows where you came from. Not even you. Felix's internal monologue often sounded disturbingly like Malkar.

"I don't think it was your magic playing tricks," Felix finally said, running his fingers through his hair as if the most important thing right now were personal grooming.

"You need to be careful then, Felix," Fin said softly, wrapping his arms around himself as his vision slowly came back in full, offering an only slightly murky view of the wizard. "Whatever's in those woods, that world... It wants you."

Felix drew in a deep breath, watching Fin sidelong as the other man's vision came back to him, so he could judge the moment when he needed to bring up his guard again. Yes, this looked to be about time.

"Well," he said briskly. "It will have to get in line. Do you want to come up for a drink?"

The young fae seemed to consider the offer for a moment, before finally bobbing his head in agreement and pushing to his feet. "I could fancy a drink, actually," he said, combing his long and tousled hair back with his fingers before offering Felix a bright smile.

"I mean, we did fight a giant robot, yeah? You sent that thing toppling, I felt the earth shake under us, Felix. That's definitely worthy of a tipple and a toast."

It was just shy of actual praise and so Felix was able to accept it, returning Fin's smile with a crooked one of his own. "Yes, I can assure you that really happened. You kept it from grinding us into a pulp, you know. If you like, I'll narrate the whole thing for you."

He climbed up to his feet unsteadily, but managed to stand up and brush himself off. "Come along, then? If Shannon's home, you'll shield me from his wrath, hm?"

"Why would Shannon be cross?" Fin asked, brows raising slightly as he started to walk along at Felix's side.

"I slipped off to another world without him, got up to trouble, and had an adventure," Felix explained, leading the way to the rather posh, modern building's electronically locked back door. The small electronic eye flicked from red to green when Felix approached. He didn't even have to gesture to unlock that door any longer (and the cameras never noticed a thing). "Wouldn't you be cross?"

"Maybe- But more because Will makes a habit of trying to protect me, and I don't need protecting," Fin replied honestly, shrugging one shoulder and trying not to be too nosey as he observed Felix's gesture-less magic.

Felix opened the back door and waved Fin inside the well-appointed building, then began the journey through residents-only amenity facilities (the faint scent of chlorine indicated a pool somewhere nearby, and down a hall came a clack of billiard balls and murmur of conversation) toward the elevators.

"Clearly," he agreed, casually waving open doors and lighting the elevator buttons hands-free. He did this every day and no one noticed. Modern preoccupation was such a lovely thing. "Shall I testify to Will for you on that matter?"

"I wouldn't object to that," Fin replied. "Honestly, I'd just be thrilled to know he was being social. Ever since I left, and even since I returned to him... Well, people take sides, you know? Not many took his," he finished quietly, a hint of guilt in his tone. As though he felt that was his fault.

Quickly, he changed the subject. "Is that pool water I smell? God, I've not been swimming in forever. I used to think that was my future, you know. Olympic swimmer."

"Really." It wasn't quite a question, but an expression of mild surprise. "In... school?"

Felix supposed that was the sort of thing people dreamed about in their school years. He didn't know if anyone had ever put two and two together and come to realize that Felix had skipped, without record, the years between 'exploited tween prostitute' and 'magical society darling.'

The elevator swept them up to a higher floor, short of the penthouse but high enough for a lovely view, and for the space of that ride, everything seemed quiet and terribly normal.

"Mmm," Fin nodded. "I was quite good, I think. I had excellent times... Then my heart tried to give out on me, and, well- The rest is a long and tangled mess, isn't it?"

It wasn't really a question though, and he fell silent as they reached what he assumed was Felix and Shannon's flat.
