Epimetheus wasn't like Prometheus when it came to powers and magic. He had power, sure, but he'd never mastered it the way his twin had. He hadn't needed to, really. He'd never been trapped in the mortal realm after all, he came and went as he pleased- Using portals. ...Portals he generally had others open for him. However, since he was traveling alone lately, the only way to pop back home for a bit was to crack one open himself, using the only spell he knew to do so. A very blunt spell, honestly, that Prometheus had scolded him time and time again for using. 'Spells like this aren't like garage door openers, you know. They don't just open one portal, they'll open any in range,' the other titan had scolded, though all Epimetheus had said in return was 'What's a garage door?'.

That had been some time ago, but Epimetheus had used the spell many times since. He'd never noticed any ill effects personally, and didn't have the foresight to see how it might go a bit wrong. So this morning when he'd popped home to see Pandora, he'd gone on as he always did- Oblivious to any trouble he might be causing elsewhere.

(Portals are opening and closing all over london, letting things into the city from other places, times, ect. The sky is the limit here! Have anything you want slip through into the city- Or maybe let your pups go stumbling through one themselves? The choice is yours! This post will be open all next week, so tag in and then check back often! As always, we trust you guys not to go too crazy with this power, but please, no wrecking the city or doing anything that might cause gamewide issues without checking in with us first. Also, like any plot, feel free to have your pups sit out or be completely oblivious to the chaos. Assume that Torchwood and the like are keeping it out of the papers. ;) Have fun!)

For someone he loved very much. That kind of wall that went up was the sort that went up around the private aspects of any relationship. Curnen smiled. "Sweet." But she didn't press any further.

"Okay. I got an idea. It's a bit on the nose and silly, but I think it'll work. Can you hold that music in your mind, even if I'm doing something else?" She assumed yes, because any wizard worth his salt had to be able to concentrate like stone, but.

"Certainly," Felix answered, without hesitation. He had a great deal of practice at listening and even responding to conversation when his mind was focused on something else entirely. Besides, he knew the slow, sultry arrangement of the music and the low, whiskey-sweet voice of the singer he'd hired to record it by heart.

You're the only one worth seeing,
The only place worth being.
The only bed to sleep in is the one right next to you.

Curnen had warned him that it was silly and on the nose, but she was going to go with it anyway. Even so, she kept it soft, almost plaintive. A kind of prayer, perhaps, but it was enough to keep it from being completely absurd as she sang "Love Is an Open Door."

Felix didn't have the full context -- he'd never seen the film -- but he really didn't have room to judge. He was singing to himself a plagiarized, personal version of a song that he'd converted from a poppy, upbeat tune into a truly saccharine love song, just so he could slow dance with his boyfriend.

He kept moving forward, kept the song in his mind, and focused on his thoughts of Shannon. For the first time, he let himself feel the fear that he might not see Shannon again, and that alone was enough to chase any doubts about Curnen's magic from his mind. It had to work, because the alternative was unthinkable.

Curnen's eyes scanned their surroundings as she sang, asking for the mercy of the night wind not just in getting back to their own plane of reality, but also the correct time and place...

And then she saw it, like a ripple in reality, a place where space itself was bending back to let someone or something by.

She touched Felix's arm only briefly so she could direct his attention toward it, before heading toward the gateway, her voice unfaltering. She didn't dare stop until they were on the other side.

Felix felt it at the same time as he saw it, and nodded to Curnen's light touch. He quickened his steps, before realizing he was going to outpace the tiny woman in seconds. She'd opened this, or found it at the very least, and he couldn't just leave her behind. So he made sure to slow down, and crossed the portal with her, at the same time.

Curnen only stopped singing on the other side, where immediately she went on alert. She had only lived in London for a very short piece of her life, but even though she couldn't do things like know where she was at once, she could tell right away that the air smelled right.

From there it was a matter of pulling her phone out of her pocket and seeing if it gave her any indication that anything was off.

The clock had moved some, but the date was the same. Weather was still telling her London. And only then did Curnen allow herself to start laughing in relief.

Felix sagged forward, stumbling a step and then dropping his hands on his thighs, bent over and just breathing air that tasted like home. The backlash of fear that he'd fought back for all of that time came crashing down on him, and for a few moments, it was just too much. He might not have made it, might never have seen home again. The residual panic stole his breath until he could convince himself that they were safe.

Curnen was laughing like a loon, and she knew it. And then she thought of the picture they must make, her tiny and bedraggled, him giant and posh, the both of them looking like a couple of scared kids who had been lost in the woods just long enough to freak them out. She laughed even harder. It didn't matter to her if anyone was staring.

Eventually, the need to breathe made her gain control of herself. And when she did and saw Felix hunched over like that, she inched closer. She didn't touch him, but she waited until she thought he had calmed down some, but still might not pull himself together on his own.

Then she whispered, "Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck."

Felix looked up sharply, disbelief shocking away a heavy dose of near-panic. He stared at her openly, then groaned and pushed himself back up. Somehow, inexplicably, a faint huff of laugh spilled out of him as he straightened up, and he swiped his hands over his face so he wouldn't succumb to hysteria.

But it was a very, very near thing.

Curnen hummed a few bars, soft and low. This was a Tufa song, a lullaby, but the magic in it was only the lightest caress, nudging him back from the edge he was threatening to go over. She knew that edge. She'd nearly flung herself over it many times. It had been sheer willpower and burning hope that kept her from doing so.

But she still didn't touch him. That would help most people, but not him.

Felix could sense there was some kind of magic in the song, but it didn't flow along the same lines as his, as if it sat at an awkward, twenty-seven-degree angle against his own. But he took a breath and felt the world settle into place again, the threat of madness averted.

He opened his strange eyes and looked to Curnen, giving her a small nod of understanding and thanks. "Any idea what part of 'home' this is?"

"Not a clue," Curnen admitted cheerfully. "But that's what phones are for now, I guess."

She opened up the maps app on her phone and showed him the screen once it had pinpointed their location. "You're the local. Mean anything to you?"

Not a blessed thing. Felix looked for a long moment, and then said, "Well, we can be certain we're in London, at any rate. I confess, I just want to go home." He sighed, and suggested, "Taxi?"

"Works for me," Curnen said with a shrug. She had never had a problem with finding her way around, and she was sure she could get home on her own. But she didn't want to leave him just yet. She was used to falling in and out of slow time. She didn't know how used Felix was to shocks like that.
