Gathering Post - Christmas Eve Party

Merry Christmas!

You are invited to celebrate the season with Finlay Flynn and Willy Silver.

 

When: Christmas Eve (5pm – Midnight)

Where: Making the Modern World - The Science Museum

Upon entry you'll be given a ticket for one free drink. All drinks after that are 5 each. There will also be a free buffet in the dining area.

 

Dress code: Casual, but tidy please!

 

Raffle: Come wearing a festive sweater and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 65 inch TV.

 

Donate: Bring three tins of canned food to be donated to the local food bank, and receive an extra drink ticket.

Look forward to: A live DJ, live music, an appearance by Santa, gift bags with deluxe swag, and the company of old and new friends!

 

(OTA! Happy holidays! If you know Fin, Willy, Phouka, or Winter, feel free to assume they gave you an invite. If not, you can say your pup got an invite through a friend of a friend, someone who knows someone, ect. It IS invite over (no gate crashing pups please, Fin's a giver and would want everyone to feel included), but the pups hosting the party are pretty active and I believe they know almost everyone in the game. And the people they don't know surely know people who do. Even if you only met them once, you got an invite somehow! This gathering post is open all week, and beyond!)

Danny nodded at that, then sighed.

"I do eventually want to try again, and Hex is... He's wonderful. It just seems too soon."

"Love ought never be forced," Anael agreed with a soft smile. "But I'm glad. That you want that in your future, still."

Danny nodded, pausing as he caught a glimpse of the man in question in the crowd. His heart fluttered, and Danny couldn't help but feel like a traitor. He had no right to move on. Not now. Not yet.

"Do you believe in fate?" he asked. "That some things are simply meant to happen?"

"I believe in God, and the free will He's given men," Anael replied with a soft smile. He tended to stick to the more common 'He', when talking to people who did not know what Anael was. "Some things He has ordained. But for the most part, men are free to do as they wish." For good or ill.

"I dunno about God, but- I think, sometimes you're meant to run into people at certain times in your life. That's all," Danny shrugged.

Anael's smile widened, and he nodded. "Yes. Absolutely. He puts people on our path, or vice versa. If I hadn't run into a friend, quite by chance, I wouldn't be here tonight."

"Again, I'm not sure I'd give credit to god, but- Yeah. That's how I feel about Hex, I think," Danny confessed. "I'd not seen him in a long time, but- He was the one who tested me. Who told me I was positive. He took me back to his, helped me calm down. He's been stopping by to see me ever since."

"It sounds like an act of - Fate, or whatever you choose to believe in," Anael agreed in earnest. God, he knew, and trusted, but he would not force that belief on anyone. Any sort of faith was faith.

"It's just nice to have something good happen after so much pain," Danny confessed quietly.

He shook his head then, not wanting things to get too heavy, and offered Hani a smile. "Your jumper is dreadful by the way- I love it," he laughed.

Anael looked down at the cardigan with a grin, then back up at Danny. "Cheers. I wish I could take the credit, but a friend talked me into it. I couldn't turn her down."

"It's sweet," Danny laughed. "Like something a gran would knit."

[whispersoflove]

"It might be," Anael stated with a smile. He was glad to hear Danny laugh. "She found it in a thrift shop, and thought of me immediately, apparently." He made a face to punctuate that, as if unsure what she was going on about there, or whether she had been teasing.

"Because you're so angelic?" Danny asked, reaching out to tug on the hem with a smile.

"That, or she was pulling my leg," Anael answered with a smile, but he hoped that Danny meant it. Being thought of as angelic was, obviously, a compliment - at least, when it came from people who did not know other angels.

Danny smiled, shaking his head. "No, I think it was sincere. Seems like it's in your nature."

Anael smiled, and bowed his head in acknowledgement. "Thank you, then."

"You're welcome," Danny chuckled.

"You didn't want to enter the raffle, yourself?" Anael asked with a teasing smile.

"Would have no where to put the telly if I managed to win," Danny confessed. "You've seen our flat, it's tiny. ...Suppose I could have sold it though, used the money to pay a few bills."

[whispersoflove]

"I've been told it isn't about the television, but about the possibility of winning," Anael answered with a grin. "Or it was just about wanting to see me in this, really, but she wouldn't have come out and said so." It had been very clear all the same.

Danny chuckled softly at that, then shrugged. "Well then, if it's about winning, I wish you luck," he smiled.

"If you'd seen the look on her face, you'd know I've already won," Anael replied with a warm smile. Besides, the possibility of winning was different from winning at all, but since it was about neither, for Anael, it wasn't worth arguing. "And then there was the look on your face, when you laughed at it."

"You want to bring people happiness," Danny sussed. "That's terribly sweet, Hani. ...You're terribly sweet, I think, aren't you? In general, I mean. You've just got a good heart."

"Too good, my brothers say," Anael answered, still smiling slightly. "But I've never listened."

"No such thing," Danny assured him, patting his arm.

"I'm glad I ran into you, Hani. Enjoy your night."
