Willy could feel her eyes on him and finally caught her looking. He smiled brightly and closed the distance between them. Up close his eyes were just as green as ever...it was just that his pupils were quite dilated since he was a bit drunk off his cream.
"Sunny, my flower, I am so glad you came," he said warmly. He was sure she of all people would not need an explanation of who he was.

"Excellent. I am so happy we won the honour of your presence," he replied. It was lofty but from Willy the sentiment was genuine. He really was honoured that given the choice she'd chosen the party.
"Have you had enough to eat and drink? And have you collected your gift bag yet?" he asked. He was just a touch drunk on cream and feeling very relaxed and happy.

"Oh, you must come with me, then," Willy said, catching her by the han to lead her to the table where gift bags sat waiting to be claimed.
"Let me see if I can find yours, Sunny..."
Saying even that much of her name was magical, but Willy was in a kind and festive mood so the power in the two syllables was almost like a caress.

It couldn't hurt her, not really, even if he hadn't been in such a good mood. He didn't know any more of her name than anybody else did, from family to the registrar's office. Anyanwu was hers alone.

"I do not know how else to say it, petal, but if you like I will not say it at all?" he replied, his offer quite genuine. Before she could answer yea or nay he plucked a large gift bag from the table full of wrapped presents. Inside was a trove of treasures, the fine blanket his favourite, though Fin had assured him the iPhone 6s would be a favourite for the guests.
"Here you are, my friend," he said with a smile.

"Yes. Fin bought me a phone and it is delightful so we got them for everyone here," he said happily. "There are iTunes cards as well- Fin said we had to give those with the phones. I selected the blanket. It is large and soft and perfumed with lavender."

"I like the idea that your brothers will envy you," Willy said. "And they should, for you have many enviable traits, my friend. You are very kind, you have a sharp wit, and you are adept at magic. All highly prized things where I am from."

"And only the truth- without strings or tricks. I do mean it, petal," he said warmly.

She lowered her eyes briefly so she wouldn't blush more, and when she lifted them she asked, "So why the new... look?" She'd started to say 'everything,' but that felt rude somehow.

"Ah, I have been in London so long and the paps like to take pictures of Fin. Someone is bound to recognize me from many years ago. And I do not age. Our options were leave London or rely on a glamour. And I could not uproot Fin, I would never dream of even asking. And so...a new look. Do you like my face?" he asked. The only thing about him that hadn't changed were his eyes were stil the rich emerald green, but they looked different with his new complexion.

But Sunny wasn't about to just say it, so she set her face in her best, 'you're pretty and you know it' expression and admitted, "I appreciate that you learned to take care of that hair."
no subject
"I am still learning," he admitted. "Often I admit defeat and use magic to take the tangles out. But I am learning and I have many years to master this mane. It is completely different from the hair I had before. That was like silken strands. It rarely tangled. But I have found there are many potions and products- oils and treatments to keep it healthy. I rather enjoy it."

"I do not know how to braid my hair," he said. "What could I do to tempt you to do it? What would you wish in return for such a favor?"

"We shall arrange a day for you to come braid it, then, and you will have time to think," he said. It didn't even occur to him that she might not want to, or that she may not have time. She had mentioned it and she did her own hair so nicely and he liked her...he would gladly sit for her. No, whether or not she would do it was never a question in his mind.

She nodded. "Sure. I can do that."

Willy pulled his phone out of his pocket, unlocked it, and handed it to her.
"Please, put your number in. Fin says this is a much more polite way to contact people," he said.
no subject
Sunny however decided she didn't want to know. So she deftly took the phone from his fingers, added her contact information, and then sent herself a text message so she would have his in turn before handing the phone back. "In general," she said, "Sundays are good days for me."
no subject
"Sunday would be lovely. Noon? I will have a meal and tea waiting for you," he said. "Will that give you enough time to think of a fair exchange?"
