Damon arched an eyebrow as he listened to the man order. Bourbon, Damon's favorite, and he had taste in his bourbon, too. When they shared a look and the guy rolled his eyes, Damon chuckled softly. "The service sucks, but at least the liquor is mediocre," he drawled, sipping his own bourbon.

"Ah, the glory that is the London nightlife," Felix drawled dryly. His accent was clearly upper-crust, and he gave the blue-eyed man a thoughtful look upon hearing that he decidedly wasn't from around here. "I'm afraid someone might have led you astray, if you're visiting. It gets much better than this."

"Oh, it's not my first time in London," Damon assured him, "but sometimes slumming it can be fun."

"To slumming it," Felix offered, holding his glass at the right angle for a toast. "And... to not saying that too loudly, so that we make it through this evening with our noses unbroken."

Damon laughed at that and nodded, tapping his glass against the other man's. "A good fist fight can be fun too, but I think I'd rather drink tonight, so I'm in." Besides, the clientele in this place wouldn't stand a chance against him, he was sure.

Felix gave an exaggerated shudder. "Having been in my first and only fist fight very recently, I can say I've had my fill of those for the rest of my days. I had to stay in for a week until I looked normal." Tall and slim and delicate-looking, Felix very much did not look like the sort of person to do very well in a physical altercation.

"What a surprise," Damon murmured into his drink, sipping at it with a smirk.

"So where do you usually go, when you're not...slumming it?" He dropped his voice to a near-whisper on the last two words, grinning.

Felix named a well-off neighborhood in a rather different part of the city, neither trendy nor tired. "Closer to home," he explained. "But there's a delightful little place called Jazzmin I've been enjoying lately. The owner is also the main entertainment and absolutely worth the price of the drinks. Have you heard of it?"

Damon frowned thoughtfully, shaking his head. "Can't say that I have. I'll have to check it out, if it's as good as you say."
