Gathering Post
The Queen's official birthday celebrations might wait for the better, brighter weather of June, instead of the actual date just passed, but there was no lack of things to do in London this week, even if it was cooler and damper than the week before. St. George's day festivities were scattered throughout the city, competing with celebrations of the four hundredth anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Getting around the city could be even more difficult than usual on Sunday, with multiple streets closed off for the London marathon.
There were exhibits - everything from graphic design to a survey of Sicilian history to the influence of underwear. And the same level of diversity could be found whether you were in the mood for music, theatre, good food, or late night fun. There was something for everyone, and no matter your plans - or lack of plans - you never quite knew what you were going to find, or who might find you.

"I smell very nice! I bathed just this morning," the pixie frowned.

"Oooh," he replied. "Yes, I don't think I'd enjoy being the cause of a riot. That doesn't sound like a good night. ...Unless it was a glitter riot."

"...Oh. Well, I have blood. An abundance, probably. You can have some of mine if I may have a glass of wine," the pixie offered.

"I don't want wine, I want that," he decided, pressing his face against the glass. "Then it doesn't matter where we go. We can drink in the park even."

He ordered himself the drink he wanted, bouncing a bit while he waited.

He only hoped that the pixie wouldn't back out of their deal, since he didn't want to risk bad blood with his kind, or the Fae.
Tasty though they were.

"Should we go to the park now?"

Winter wandered at his side, chatting away happily about the opera they'd watched and sipping his coffee. It was warm and sweet, and it made the pixie buzz in the very best way.
He only stopped when he potted a bench near some willows. Not completely secluded, but peaceful and somewhat private. A good place to sit and enjoy the night air.
"If you're a vampire, you're probably very old. I've never known any, but Aspid, my former master, he told me stories of vampires. How some were as old as the fae. He said the really old ones were ugly. ...You're not ugly though. You are sharp and fair, like leather pulled taught over sharp crystal."
An odd expression, thought it was meant as a complement.

The truth was, he had no idea. The Fae were pretty secretive, and predictably did not seek out the company of vampires even when they lived on this plane. Not wanting to be drained dry by one with poor impulse control, and/or no understanding of the consequences of their actions.

"Fae live very long," Winter nodded. "Pixies too, though I am young still."

"I am thirty," Winter replied proudly, like a teen who had just turned eighteen.
