He wasn't terribly musical, if he was honest. He could sing, and he'd written lyrics for Will in the past, but when it came to instruments, he knew little. His piano was poor, his attempts at drumming when he was younger had been a failure, but he could play a bit on the guitar. It was a skill he was attempting to improve as he sat beneath a tree in the park, a cigarette dangling from his lips as he strummed to himself.

Dark sunglasses hid his eyes, and Keats lay nearby, keeping watch as much as he was keeping Fin company. A few stray chords settled into a familiar song, and Fin hummed a bit before removing the cigarette from his lips and starting to sing.

"The door slammed loud and rose up a cloud of dust on us. Footsteps follow, down through the hollow sound, torn up... And you will go to Mykonos, with a vision of a gentle coast, and a sun to maybe dissipate. Shadows of the mess you made..."

He fumbled a bit, swearing under his breath as he strummed a bit more, jumping ahead in the song.

"I remember how they took you down, as the winter turned the meadow brown. You go, wherever you go today..."

He made it through the rest of the verse before fumbling again and starting over, pausing to stub out his cigarette and give it a proper try this time.

"Then I'm very happy for you," Fin said softly. "I doubt they'll be the last boys to fall for you. I think you'll be beating them back with sticks."

Sunny had to snort at the idea of that. The idea that she could be attractive outside of someone's weird fetish was... difficult. "Maybe. Winter kissed me, too."

"Winter?" Fin asked, not sure what to make of that bit of news. He'd seen Winter flirt awkwardly with girls before, but Fin had, perhaps unfairly, always assumed Winter was gay. It hadn't occurred to him that the pixie didn't have a preference.

He supposed it shouldn't have been surprising, when they'd first taken the pixie in it had been apparent that his own gender meant little to him. It was easy enough to believe it was all quite fluid for the small creature.

"That must have been a shock."

"He wasn't in a good place at the time," Sunny clarified, "and I think half the reason he did it was because he wanted me to hit him. Buuuut there was something real in it. And yeah, it was weird." She didn't find Winter attractive, even slightly, outside of objectively acknowledging he was good enough looking. And she probably wouldn't even if he didn't ping so hard as a child in her head.

"Huh," Fin replied, looking thoughtful, then shaking his head a bit. "It makes a lot of sense, really. I mean, he looks up to you, obviously, and you're a very beautiful young woman. Crushes happen, even to pixies, I imagine."

"Um." One little non-word, and it said everything about how blindsided Sunny was by the mere idea of it.

Fin only smiled, nudging her gently.

"It's just a crush, Sunny. I'm sure it's not the first time either, though maybe the first time you've ever had it brought to your attention, hmm?" he asked.

Sunny knew crushes, the weird, fluttery feelings, the almost obsessive thoughts, and the strange combination of relief and agony that was being close to the person you had a crush on. Frankly, that didn't make it less weird. "Definitely the worst," she said instead.

"Sunny," Fin said, going for scolding, but failing when he started to laugh. "He's a kid, no matter how grown he says he is. He'll get over it."

"Well, yeah, but I guess it sheds a little light on his pouting," she said, turning her head to rest her cheek on her knee.

"Kind of endearing really. ...And terrifying, I suppose. I dread to think what Winter thinks flirting is supposed to be like," Fin admitted with a slight frown. "Given that he learns nearly everything about the world via Netflix, you could wake up to a tiny blonde standing outside your window holding a boombox."

Sunny burst out laughing at that. "Not like most people have better teachers than that."

"No, but most people can separate film from reality. Winter still thinks all clowns are serial killers," Fin said flatly.

"Given he doesn't start attacking clowns," Sunny answered wryly, "I definitely feel no urge to dissuade that."

Fin snorted a bit at that, then nodded, wavey hair bobbing a bit as he moved his head. "Agreed."

Sunny's fit of giggles was powerful and it took her some time to manage to do things like breathe normally. "Clowns. Even in a world with actual nightmare terrors, still the worst ever."

"They really are quite horrific," Fin replied, "Whoever thought that was good clean entertainment really ought to have been shot. ...Though it's a relief that Winter's over his zombie phase at least."

"Oh good," Sunny sighed. "I only got a taste and that taste alone was tiresome."

"Lately it's all vampire chat," Fin admitted, unaware that Winter had met a vampire, and simply assuming he was watching more films and shows.

"Oh. He's probably curious about his new friend," Sunny said like it wasn't a big deal. And really, she couldn't bring herself to treat it like it was unless and until Winter got hurt.

"What new friend?" Fin asked, looking puzzled. Winter hadn't mentioned any new friends to him, he'd just had a few questions about vampires, and had borrowed a few of the young adult romance novels that had come with dozens of other books his publisher had gifted him with when he'd first signed his book contract.

"Apparently he met a vampire," Sunny answered with a shrug. "I don't know the guy."

"...That sounds like- A not great thing. I've been told my blood is like- I don't know, a rush. Total fine dining. I'm only mostly fae. Winter's an oversized pixie. His blood must be like vampire crack. There's no way that's safe," Fin said, looking slightly distraught.

"I'm not thrilled about the idea either, and he knows that," Sunny assured him, and did not point out the pot calling the kettle black for bad life choices. "All the same, he's not a child. And vampires, you will get ones who just want you to leave them the hell alone and not cause trouble."

Fin frowned, then sighed. "Yeah, I suppose," he agreed, though it was clear he wasn't happy about it at all.
