He wasn't terribly musical, if he was honest. He could sing, and he'd written lyrics for Will in the past, but when it came to instruments, he knew little. His piano was poor, his attempts at drumming when he was younger had been a failure, but he could play a bit on the guitar. It was a skill he was attempting to improve as he sat beneath a tree in the park, a cigarette dangling from his lips as he strummed to himself.

Dark sunglasses hid his eyes, and Keats lay nearby, keeping watch as much as he was keeping Fin company. A few stray chords settled into a familiar song, and Fin hummed a bit before removing the cigarette from his lips and starting to sing.

"The door slammed loud and rose up a cloud of dust on us. Footsteps follow, down through the hollow sound, torn up... And you will go to Mykonos, with a vision of a gentle coast, and a sun to maybe dissipate. Shadows of the mess you made..."

He fumbled a bit, swearing under his breath as he strummed a bit more, jumping ahead in the song.

"I remember how they took you down, as the winter turned the meadow brown. You go, wherever you go today..."

He made it through the rest of the verse before fumbling again and starting over, pausing to stub out his cigarette and give it a proper try this time.

"Oh?" Fin asked, starting to strum again, though a bit quieter now.

"What did you think of her?"

"She loves you very much," Anael answered, his voice warm. That really was the best recommendation, to him.

"I love her too," Fin assured him. "Though I meant more, what do you think of her personality," he explained. "Some people say we're very alike, others say we couldn't be more different."

"You love in rather the same way," Anael answered. "Fiercely. Wholly." He smiled. "But I'm not sure how alike you might be in other ways."

Fin shrugged, because he didn't really know either, pushing his sunglasses up to let them sit on his head.

"Alike or not, it's nice to have her around again."

Anael nodded in answer to that, humming quiet assent so that Fin might hear it. "She told me what happened. The gist of it, in any case."

"It's been a strange year," Fin sighed. "I still feel like some of it might not be real."

"It feels real, for what it's worth," Anael stated. "Her power, and yours." He paused for an instant. "I'm glad, if this makes you safe now."

Fin hummed, then sighed. "Yeah, I suppose this is for the best- Though I don't have to like it, do I? Sure, no one's trying to murder me, but..."

He trailed off, aware he shouldn't complain.

"Whatever, it is what it is."

"You've got new magic, now, haven't you," Anael prodded gently. "Can't it compensate?" He would miss his eyes, he was certain, but he had so much more to sense with. "Not that it would replace your sight," he acknowledged. "Of course you don't have to like it."

"It tries, but it's miles from perfect, and I can't seem to figure out the rules, you know?" Fin replied. "Like, what makes it better, what makes it worse. It seems to change all the time."

"It's very young, isn't it," Anael offered. "I'm sure time will help."

"It will. I mean, it's stronger now than it was only a month ago, and it does what it can to be a crutch. It's figured out how to turn text into braille for me. I don't know how, I'm sure I'm just... Willing it somehow, I guess? It works though. ...Well, most of the time," he added, trailing off a bit.

"That sounds quite amazing," Anael answered honestly. For everything that he could do, the miracles that he could accomplish, turning text into braille seemed like such a complex feat.

"It's certainly useful," Fin admitted. "Without it, I don't think I'd have much luck learning about my kind. The few books I've found on trooping fae are very old, and definitely haven't been digitized."

"Doesn't... Willy... know anything about them?" Anael asked, a little cautiously.

Fin hesitated, then looked away.

"If he does, he's not shared much. Besides, we've agreed it's best he doesn't get too involved with my magic education."

Anael did not know what the matter was, but what he felt off Fin was enough to tell him that there was something worth saying, "I'm sorry."

Fin frowned at the apology, he was really getting sick of people being sorry for him.

"It is what it is," he said simply.

Anael would never, he hoped, stop feeling sympathy for those who hurt; it was another facet of the Love he felt for all beings. But he had noticed the frown, and he changed tack. "Your sister seemed to have the same trouble finding anything out about your kind."

"I imagine it's driving her mad too," Fin snorted. "Pippa can't stand feeling like she's missing something or that there might be a mystery she can't solve."

"She did seem very curious about me," Anael agreed. Although she hadn't asked the usual questions most people did. Perhaps she didn't believe him, the way Felix didn't.

"Well, you are quite, you know, unexpected. I can't speak for Pippa, but I've never been very religious. Learning about angels is a bit jarring for someone who doesn't believe in god," Fin admitted.

Anael smiled. "I'm still honestly not sure whether it is the believers, or the non-believers, who tend to have more questions for me."

Fin, personally, preferred to avoid it all together. He didn't want to insult Anael by saying what he thought, and he didn't like to just assume he was right either- So he let it be. It was easier that way.

"Either way, it must get exhausting."
