The best thing about London was that there was always something to do, no matter what your interests were. This weekend there was a jazz festival in Bloomsbury, an ale festival that would take you through a drunken train tour of the city, an African culture festival near Covent Garden, and several movie screenings, parties, and other pockets of fun.

Tourists were flooding in from all over, and many Londoners were slipping off to, or coming back from, their latest trips to Barcelona, Paris, or Ibiza. The weather was warm, and it had been fairly dry and sunny lately- Really, it was the perfect place to be right now. ...At least that's what anyone who wasn't heading off to some tropical wonderland would tell you at least.

As day faded into evening, bars came alive and shop windows lit up, inviting in tourists and locals alike. The city buzzed well into the night, calming only briefly in the morning, before bursting back into life again.

"I thought not," Crowley replied. He wondered briefly if he'd done a Good Thing but then decided being honest wasn't necessarily good.

"Can't your faerie do it?" he asked.

"Not for any great length of time, no. The most he managed was a day," Fin explained.

"Unfortunate," Crowley said. "That's not unusual, though. The power of the fae is often limited by their rules and customs."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I suppose that must be it. ...He managed a whole day once though," Fin said. "That was lovely. ...I'd forgotten just how colourful the world is."

"It is rather beautiful. Pity you can't see it," Crowley said dryly. He stubbed out his cigarette and immediately lit another, his lighter chinking open and then closed again.

"Perhaps he'll do it again for you. Perhaps, for the right price, when you're out of debt and all, maybe I'll offer you a day. For the right price, of course."

"I'm not certain I could stand another solitary day- It's too hard to dive back into darkness," Fin admitted. "Each time the world goes dark, it's more painful than the last."

[sauntereddownward]

"Is there nothing the doctors can do? They've come a long way since leeches and exorcisms," the demon replied.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"They restored some of my sight, but... Um, I went through some trauma and malnourishment that reversed the progress they made," Fin explained, looking uneasy as he recalled what had happened. "It's not something they think they can do again. There's too much scarring now."

"And yet you manage to find your way home," Crowley said. "Rather remarkable how resilient your lot is. Admirable, really."

"Technology does the legwork," Fin admitted, shrugging again. His lean shoulders rolled with the motion, fine bones visible even through his tshirt."I imagine it was much harder before everyone had smartphones and GPS."

"Ah, technology," he said fondly. "The new religion. Maybe that is why your fae's power grows weak."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I think it might be something a touch more intimate than that- But perhaps," Fin replied, nodding a bit as he spoke. "I wont pretend to fully understand how it all works."

"Then I would consider you wiser than average. Too many people think they've got it all figured out. And then what happens, I ask you? Then you meet a demon over drinks," he laughed.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You don't act the way I thought demons were meant to act. Aren't you supposed to be pure temptation and sin?" Fin asked.

[sauntereddownward]

"Oh, well, yes, but I tempted you and you said no and I'm not an idiot. What would you have me do, wheedle and pick at you until you walk away? Much nicer to chat, don't you think?" he asked. "But if you insist...would you like a cigarette?"

Fin laughed, then shook his head. "Trying to quit, actually. Though it's not going very well. Had two this morning... Have a patch on now, but it's not doing much."

[sauntereddownward]

"You can have one...what can it hurt if you've already had two?" he reasoned, a cigarette appearing in his hand so he could put it in Fin's hand.

Temptation took all forms, really.

"Smoking this isn't going to send me to hell, is it? I've had a rough enough time of it as it is, I don't really want to wrap things up by damning myself as well," the young actor snorted, toying with the cigarette, but not lighting it yet.

"Maybe in the most roundabout of ways, but if you help feed the homeless once I'm sure it will balance it out. It's really all about balance, dear boy."

Fin let out a huff of a laugh, then shrugged.

"Cheers then," he said as he lit up.

Crowley wore a viper's smile as Fin took the first drag, quite pleased with himself for succeeding, even in the smallest of ways.

"Cheers," he replied, the S hissing a bit.

Fin took a long drag, then exhaled slowly, the smoke curling up as if it was carrying all his troubles away. The young actor was frail looking, all angles and lines, with a slight crease to his brow that exposed the large amount of stress he was under.

While Crowley had been talking his attention had been torn from the sidewalk and as a result the foot traffic had righted itself and smoothed out. The demon was rather interested in studying the young man who looked like he might blow away in a strong wind.

"What do you love?" he asked curiously.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Love? I dunno- Art, music, theater... I love when people, myself included, take what's inside and expose it to the world," Fin shrugged. "That's why I do what I do- It's why I haven't stopped, even though common sense might suggest I should."

"I have a friend who most likely would adore you. He likes artists. But all the best artists are on our side, not his. The best musicians, too," he said, sounding quite fond of his friend.
