Gathering Post - Christmas Eve Party

Merry Christmas!

You are invited to celebrate the season with Finlay Flynn and Willy Silver.

 

When: Christmas Eve (5pm – Midnight)

Where: Making the Modern World - The Science Museum

Upon entry you'll be given a ticket for one free drink. All drinks after that are 5 each. There will also be a free buffet in the dining area.

 

Dress code: Casual, but tidy please!

 

Raffle: Come wearing a festive sweater and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 65 inch TV.

 

Donate: Bring three tins of canned food to be donated to the local food bank, and receive an extra drink ticket.

Look forward to: A live DJ, live music, an appearance by Santa, gift bags with deluxe swag, and the company of old and new friends!

 

(OTA! Happy holidays! If you know Fin, Willy, Phouka, or Winter, feel free to assume they gave you an invite. If not, you can say your pup got an invite through a friend of a friend, someone who knows someone, ect. It IS invite over (no gate crashing pups please, Fin's a giver and would want everyone to feel included), but the pups hosting the party are pretty active and I believe they know almost everyone in the game. And the people they don't know surely know people who do. Even if you only met them once, you got an invite somehow! This gathering post is open all week, and beyond!)

Hex jerked his arm in against his body, jerking Danny in turn. He laughed as he did it. Laughing came easily with Danny, he'd found.

"Shut up," he said, not meaning it in the least. "I bet you're the same. Let a friend crash at yours, pay what you can. Donate to charity when you can...I'm not wrong, am I?"

"I think you're projecting a bit," Danny chuckled. "I'm an okay guy, I like to think, but I don't know if I'm a mother hen sort."

'i think I might be projecting, yeah," he laughed. "So what sort are you? When someone asks for a cigarette outside the club do you offer up or pretend you're out?"

"Well, cigarettes are different, you always share if you have a spare," Danny scoffed.

"Alright, fair enough," he laughed. "Maybe that was a bad example. "

Danny laughed, and for a brief moment the weight of his grief and fear lifted. For a moment he felt whole and calm- And while it didn't last, he still allowed himself to enjoy it.

"So how'd you wind up friends with someone off the telly?" he asked curiously.

"He came through as an emergency. His heart was failing. But then he met Will and big changes happened for him. But I knew him when he was homeless, yeah?"

"Didn't know he had been," Danny confessed with a smile and a shrug. "Not that familiar with his work. Just remember seeing him in the papers."

[just_hex]

"He's been making the papers more and more. Acting, doing radio. Modeling. He's a rising star," he said proudly. Fin had come so far since he'd met him so long ago.

"You talk about him like you fancy him," Danny laughed. "You harbouring a crush there, Hex?"

[just_hex]

"Oh, I won't deny it, but he's me best mate. It's a different sort of love. Like...brothers, yeah. Maybe Greek brothers with kissing. But Will's not the jealous sort and it's clear who Fin loves," he said. "But please don't leak that to the press. There's already enough rumours floating around."

"Trust me, I've no interest in going to the press, Hex," Danny promised, his smile fading slightly.

"I know, but if times get tough and you need some dosh, come see me. Don't sell out your mates," he said warmly. He even pulled his hand from his pocket to drape it round Danny's narrow shoulders.

"I would never do that," Danny replied, offended enough that he physically pulled away. "Ever. I could be broke, and I'd never do that to anyone, friend or not."

Hex's arm fell and he slowed his steps.

"I'm sorry, danny. I didn't mean to offend you. Like you said, we don't know one another very well. But...I'd like it if we could. Come home with me tonight?" Hex asked softly.

"Are you seriously trying to pull me after suggesting I'd sell your friend out to the papers?" Danny asked flatly.

"I'm not trying to pull you. I live closer and it's bloody cold. I have to work Christmas but if you want to sleep in and help yourself to the kitchen you can. And I'm a bit selfish...I want to keep talking to you," he confessed.

Danny seemed unsure, watching Hex for a long moment, then wrapping his arms around himself.

"Alright," he said quietly.

They started walking again but something was eating at him. Something he couldn't let go of.

"Did James say something about me?" Hex asked warily.

[london_spy]

"No," Danny replied honestly. "Why?"

[just_hex]

"It's just...if he was making conversation he might have said me name to help ease the way. But if not..."

He trailed off, thinking of what Q had said, what Bond was like and just how deeply in danger Danny was...

"He said your name, yes, but he tried to act like he didn't know me. He was- Assessing the situation, I think," Danny replied. "I don't like him, there's something off about him, Hex."

[just_hex]

Hex looked up and down the street, then put his around Danny and pulled him close.

"I could get in a lot of trouble for this so if I vanish just leave it be. James is MI6. He's a double-o. He's an assassin." All of it was barely more than a whisper.

Danny had had his suspicions, had known the other man was a spy. MI6 made sense.

"I already knew they weren't above wanting me dead," he assured Hex quietly. "I already knew he was a spy too, you've not done anything wrong," he promised, pressing a kiss to Hex's cheek.

"I should have never gone to them for help. It's like I delivered you to them in gift wrap," he said, an awful, sick feeling sinking in his gut. "Maybe...Maybe we could run. You could run. I could take you to Liverpool. Me nan's house is still in me name. It's stuffy but we could set you up there. Get you out of London and away from all this..."
