GP - Wild Magic 2: Chaotic Evil Boogaloo
London was a magic epicenter of sorts. Between doors to The Otherside, dormant and active portals, and an active wizarding community, it was a hub of energy, more so now than it had been for quite some time. The city was experiencing a magical renaissance of sorts- Which sounded lovely and made it a prime place to be for those exploring and studying magical energies, but wasn't so wonderful for London's more 'normal' sorts.
Magic didn't care if you were a dark lord or a banker, if it liked you, it liked you- And it was impossible to guess who it would like.
Today magic energy was at an all time high. Another blip in the usually somewhat steady stream of power that flowed through the streets. As a result, odd things were afoot- From mischievous inconveniences, to darker disruptions. Unlike the portals, these bothers were a touch more subtle, creeping up unseen on the unsuspecting.
Last time around the magic had seemed lighthearted and playful- And some of it still was, but... There was an intensity to some of it this time, harking back to the troubles that seemed to roll around every Halloween now. Something wicked was caught in the current, and while it wasn't out to harm everyone, it did seem keen to target a few.
(OTA. Just like the last time, the magic can affect your pup however you see fit. Unlike last time, however, some of the magic has taken a darker turn. It doesn't have to do something wicked to your pup, of course, but the option is there now. This post will be open from 7/18-7/28 or longer if needed. Tag in, tag others, and check back often.)

Re: timed to 7/25
Fin's words were like needles. Every fiber of her being was pulled to him, aching to let magic flow.
"You wish," she said, squirming in her seat. "I think...I think you shouldn't say that, Fin."
Re: timed to 7/25
Re: timed to 7/25
"I'm the same way. I can say it a million times a day, but when I overhear it? It's quite physical how I'm drawn to do something. Though, let's be real, I'm not sure I'd know how to grant a wish. I've been practising and I'm getting much better at controlling my power, but some things are still beyond me," she replied.
Re: timed to 7/25
"Maybe we only have to be as fae as we want to be, Pip. Maybe being trooping, being scattered, maybe that's an advantage. We don't have to play those games. We don't have to be that way."
Re: timed to 7/25
"I don't know, Fin. I don't know if I can. Every little thing I learn, I can feel it inside me, like there's so much more. So much power. And I want it. I want to tap into it. But...I'm afraid I'll lose who I am. And I don't think I want to lose this to have that, you know?" Pippa replied, taking a sip of her drink. "But the way it feels? I don't think I have the luxury of choice."
Re: timed to 7/25
Re: timed to 7/25
"Sadly, I think you're right," Pippa said softly. "It's not all bad. It's just...so much, so fast. Sometimes I wish I could master being a fox the way you do."
Then she laughed lightly.
"I'm sure Ichabod would just be thrilled," she said, thinking of what her iguana would think.

Re: timed to 7/25
"What comes easily to me is influencing emotions. Glamours. And controlling the weather," she said. "I can make the wind blow with hardly a thought. I don't need air conditioning anymore, I can simply make my flat cold."
Re: timed to 7/25
Re: timed to 7/25
"I've got a much better grasp on it," she assured him. "Now I don't do it on accident, only on purpose, and even then I only do it to make people happy. I had an uber the other day and the driver was so cross with traffic. I gave him just a little nudge and he was much lighter by the time he dropped me off," she said.

Re: timed to 7/25
"I'm not sure it's the same, Fin. I only do it because...well, there's enough awful in the world, don't you think?" she replied. The waitress brought their burgers and Pippa immediately took up her knife and cut it in half.
"I'll tell you something else I've figured out how to do," she said with a mischievous smile. "I can change how I look. Color of my hair, size of my tits," she laughed softly.
Re: timed to 7/25
Re: timed to 7/25
"I'll teach you. We should really have lunch once a week and compare notes. We could do it at my flat where no one can see," she said thoughtfully, then dove into her burger.
Re: timed to 7/25
"Yeah? Alright," Fin agreed, staring at his burger and searching for the will to consume it. He was starving, but the act of eating was just- Unpleasent somehow at the moment.
Re: timed to 7/25
"It's not going to eat itself, Fin," Pippa said when she had swallowed. She looked at him, gaze intense. "You haven't really been eating in New York, have you?"
Re: timed to 7/25
Eventually, he picked up his knife and fork and started to cut the burger up and pick at it.
Re: timed to 7/25
"Hmm," she hummed, but let it go. Fin had always been like this, going through ups and downs regarding eating. So long as he wasn't wasting away she saw no reason to nag him about it.
"Tell me more about who you met," she said. "I want to hear all about it."
Re: timed to 7/25
Re: timed to 7/25
Pippa listened with rapt attention. She ate, Fin talked, and though she wanted to interrupt many times, she kept her mouth full. It wasn't until her brother had trailed off that she smiled wide. Pippa licked her lips and leaned forward.
"Fin, that's brilliant. That's so exciting," she said breathlessly. "I'm so bloody jealous of you right now!"
Re: timed to 7/25
Re: timed to 7/25
"That's so good because honestly I was beginning to wonder. Wonder if all our kind was just gone and it was only you and I," she replied softly. "Not that that would be bad. Sometimes I think I don't want to be queen. I'm rubbish at it so far."
Which was quite the blow considering she was generally quite good at whatever she set her mind to.
Re: timed to 7/25
"Impossible," Fin said, shaking his head. "You're brilliant at everything, Pip. If our kind ever need a Queen to be all Queenly, you'll be the best they've ever had."
Re: timed to 7/25
"With a bit more practice," she replied. "I'm just being practical, Fin. Most of what I've found I can do, I do on accident. I've no doubt I could manage diplomacy and leadership, but this sort of power doesn't come as easily as things like piano or dance or picking up dates."
