The older man had been at his side most of the night, but when he'd spotted someone he knew, 'an old friend', he'd nudged Danny off to go make friends of his own. Like a mother pushing her chick right out the nest, Scotty had been firm, chasing Danny off with a nudge.
Awkwardly, Danny lingered near the bar, nursing his free drink and watching the crowd.
