To say Winter was the jealous sort was an understatement, so when Phouka had started going on about Sunny and her reading, and her books, the pixie had immediately started doing more reading of his own, making sure Phouka saw him with a different book every other day or so. Children's books at first, since they were short and held his attention best, but soon he was reading young adult novels, and even a few text books.
The zombie had even taken him to get a special card so he could read books from the book building where the books wore funny jackets and stickers. So that was nice.
The woman at the next table had already caught his eye. She felt like fire, and her scent was familiar somehow to the pixie, though he wasn't sure why. But on top of all that, she had a book, and books were suddenly very interesting.
"Your book looks old," he said, tilting his head slightly as he looked at it. "Is it old?"
