Athos was less in a hurry than the rest of them. Cars and vans alike did not explode that quickly, when they did at all, not unless someone deliberately made them. Now that their assailants were all neutralised, the first order of business was to check on the driver, who had not got out of the van. So instead of running away, he ran towards the front of it, opening the door to find him with a gunshot wound in his chest. But he was still breathing, and Athos cursed under his breath as he grabbed the man and hauled him out of the van, dragging him to safety.
