Saturnalia GP!

It was a good night at Saturnalia.

There was some b-list American rapper-slash-DJ who had shown up earlier in the day, and Robin was happy to throw someone on stage. It had gone over well right away, so he'd let him stay on. And now it was well into the evening and things were, as Robin understood the current vernacular to be, turnt.

In fact, at some point he'd thrown open all the windows so that the music blasted onto the street, and instructed the bouncers to let in whoever wanted in. He'd also instructed the bartenders to serve all the beer half price. The resulting crowd and frenzy was really something else.

"Oh for..." Had Robin's hand not been on his thigh at that point, Felix would have removed himself from the room. As much as he enjoyed private trysts with the puck, he had to wonder if they were worth suffering through this display of manly skill.

Patience wearing thin, Felix patted Robin's side awkwardly, and extricated himself from his chair. "Deal with your guests, darling. I need another drink. You have until I finish it to decide whether I'm staying or going home," he added, not quietly.

Robin leapt to his feet then, looked down at the unconscious man on the floor, and then glared daggers at Bond.

"For fuck's sake," he snapped at him. "Is there a reason you just knocked out one of my employees, or are you simply incapable of going five minutes without an utterly unnecessary performance of your masculinity?"

Q sighed, shooting Bond a look of disapproval as he got up and poured another drink.

"I'm sorry, Robin, you know I'd never enter your business looking to cause a fuss. You've been a good friend, and we're both in your debt. We'll make this right- Wont we, double-o seven?" he added, his tone calm but gaze sharp and expressive.

"Do you want me to give him some smelling salts? Fluff him a pillow?" he asked. "I'm sure he'll get hazard pay and he'll have a good story to tell of how he got the bruise."

He left the unconscious man and walked in to get a glass of vodka since Rob had been so kind to offer.

He certainly didn't admit any guilt because he felt none. The fellow shouldn't have tried to sneak up on him.

Felix was already pouring himself a second measure of bourbon when the... international espionage agent?? ... approached. He quickly stepped back from Robin's private collection of alcohol, lifting his brows and holding up both hands. One had his half-full glass in it, and he paused to ship.

"Please note that I am not attempting any stealthy maneuvers or otherwise invading your space, Quentin's Husband," Felix said archly. "Please also note that magic works as quick as thought. I say that merely for your edification and general knowledge, of course."

Bond smiled a little. Quentin's husband. He rather liked that. He paused in his mission to get a drink and faced the ginger with the odd eyes.

"Bond. James Bond," he said. And he had no desire to mess about with magic.

"For your edification," Robin said, looking over at them, "my money's on Felix every time. And I've seen you in action, James."

"Yes, well, as fun as spy versus wizard fight club might be, let's not," Q suggested, shaking his head a bit.

"Look, this is going nowhere, and I think Mr. Harrowgate has other matters he'd like you to attend to, Robin. So, how about a deal? Allow me to come by tomorrow and quietly install a few more cameras and allow me full access to your security feed, and in return you can have... I don't know. What's something you'd actually want?"

Quite the contrary, Felix looked rather charmed, and surprised at himself for his own reaction to James' introduction. The wizard graced Robin with a beautiful smile of appreciation for his loyalty, then gave James a thoughtful glance up and down. "They're negotiating without us," he observed. "Shall we let them play, or shall we try to uncover this nameless threat to England ourselves?"

"I don't know. I might like to see how this shakes out," Bond chuckled as he poured a new glass. "Though how we went from group sex to wagering on a fight..."

He took a sip.

"All in a day's work I imagine. There really is work to do, though."

Robin couldn't suppress another eye roll at the lot of them.

He turned his attention to Q. "Fine, come back tomorrow, do what you need to do. I can decide what I want later - " He held up a hand before Q could protest. "And you can have veto power. Okay?"

"I can agree to those terms," Q nodded, hesitating, then offering his hand. "I hope you have a good night, Robin. It was a pleasure seeing you, as always. Oh, and Mr. Harrowgate, a pleasure meeting you. Hopefully next time we meet there will be less... Concussions?"

[harrowgate]

Felix sighed tragically at the mention of work, but it did seem inevitable. "One might hope, yes. I'm very interested in what you gentlemen uncover, if you can reveal it once you find it. I think I can provide the proper security clearance paperwork," he added, with a smile as charming as if he were inviting them to brunch, and not insinuating that a skew-eyed fop who'd broken in the back door of a club was part of a secret magical organization with deep ties to the British government.

"And here I thought I was really going to have to put my back into it," Bond said with a hint of amusement. He took his drink with him and nodded to Rob, then Felix.

"I'm sure we'll meet again," he said and then waited for Q to join him so they could walk out together.

"I'll see you tomorrow then," Robin said with a wave of his hand, and then turned his attention back to Felix.

"Pour me another bourbon," he said.

Now that Felix could do. He found another glass and poured a generous measure for Robin, then turned and offered it to him. Not too generously, though. He wanted Robin to come to him. "Alone at last. You do have the most remarkable friends, darling."

Robin took the glass and perched on the arm of the chair again. "I really do," he said dryly. "And it seems that all of them enjoy breaking and entertaining."

Felix flashed the kind of glittering, enthralling smile that usually got him forgiven of whatever he'd just done. Forgiven by humans, at any rate. "I wasn't about to join your festival of beer and self-aggrandizement in the front. I thought you'd enjoy the surprise."

Robin snorted, amused. "Well, given the shit show you're being compared to at the moment, you're still in my good graces. At least you didn't punch anyone."

[harrowgate]

"Yes, that was... something, wasn't it," Felix commented, brows lifted. "Granted, I don't know Quentin well -- and I understand that's probably not his real name, now -- but I would have thought he had more refined taste."

[goodfellow]

"I am pretty sure that James is exactly his taste," Robin said. "Speaking of tastes... are you here to see me for a particular reason?"

[harrowgate]

Felix cast him a raised-brow glance, as if to say, Can't you guess? "Because I haven't seen you in ages. Or is that because your ancient, fickle beau is back in town?"

Robin laughed, sounding genuinely amused.

"That's amusing, coming from you. I'm not the one with a possessive boyfriend. It is flattering that you bring up Prometheus as if he has any bearing, though. Are you jealous?"

[harrowgate]

Felix sniffed a faint laugh. "Not jealous, no. I do think he's selfish, however, and he doesn't treat you very well. Certainly not deserving of the regard you seem to have for him."

The wizard said all of this without the faintest trace of irony. If there was a parallel to his own romantic situation, he didn't see it.

Uncharacteristically, Robin frowned.

"You think he doesn't treat me well," he repeated. Then, tilting his head a bit as if genuinely curious - "Do you think you treat me well?"
