Halloween was as spooky or dull as you needed it to be in London. From handing out treats to those who came knocking, to attending costume parties and concerts all over the city, there was something for everyone tonight.

Plenty of bars and clubs were offering discounts to anyone bold enough to turn up in costume, and even the underground was bursting with holiday cheer as costumed commuters came and went, breaking up the dull day to day routine one usually faced while making your way from point a to point b.

Even those who chose to skip the costume were indulging in treats or maybe a creepy film or two.

There was no excuse to be bored. Not tonight. Not on Halloween.

(General Halloween GP for those who aren't keen on the haunted house! Feel free to post your pup anywhere in the city, from fancy dress parties to street corners. Go wild (or, you know, stay tame. Your call) Also, because there are two GPs going up this week, both are open to new top levels for two whole weeks! And, of course, you can keep tagging long after that if you want. :D I'll post reminders daily on slack.)

"I hate Halloween," Spencer muttered, stabbing her straw into her frozen pumpkin spice frapp as she watched a pair of witches walk by, and then winced as someone in a very unsettling mask stared her down on their way past.

"Great, because it's not creepy enough to be stalked by someone who has to hide in the bushes- Now they can walk right past me in broad daylight. Awesome."

She stabbed her drink again, her foot bouncing slightly as she tried to resist the urge to have a bite of the very special brownie she had tucked away in her purse. After all, she was trying not to fall down that particular rabbit hole, even if it did only give her a little buzz. ...It would be just her luck that tonight would be the night when she somehow over did it. ...Being paranoid and stoned on Halloween would be like inviting A to make trouble for her.

The thought alone made her more anxious, and as a boy tried to jump out at her wearing a Jason mask, Spencer snapped. Reaching out, she snatched the mask right off the stranger's face.

"You think you're scary? I promise you, I am way more terrifying than your party city costume!" she growled.

Hannibal didn't care much for holidays of any kind. He liked Christmas, for obvious reasons, but Halloween wasn't a party famous for its culinary excesses. If he had cared about the date, he might have killed someone and served him with a side of roasted pumpkin slices to a small gathering of people. Or perhaps exhibited him on the steps to this very theatre, where he had been invited to a Halloween party. In truth, though, he hadn't exhibited anyone at all in quite some time. A shame, to be honest. Perhaps he would change that.

Tonight, though, it was time to smile. The party had a Venetian air to it, more Carnivalesque than horror in decoration, though the people made up for it in vampires, ghouls and zombies.

Hannibal wasn't too keen on dressing up, but he didn't mind playing along. So, he'd taken his stethoscope and doctor's coat, splattered with blood. Dr. Death, in some manner.

At the moment, he was outside, taking a small breath of fresh air - interrupted by the many smoking breaks around him.

Anael hadn't realised that it was Halloween until he'd touched down in London, and realised how many people were dressed up. It was early evening, and he watched a group of friends costumed in something that clearly fit together, although he could not have said what to save his life.

"I've no idea what to dress up as," he told the person that stopped beside him to watch them, as if he were confiding some shameful sin.

"Wings too obvious?" Coby asked with a smirk. His hair was slicked back instead of wanting to fall in his face like usual, and he wore a black leather vest with various patches over a blue hoodie, white t-shirt, and low-slung jeans.

He bumped his shoulder against Anael's. "You could go the other direction, red horns and a pointy tail."

"I don't think so," Anael shook his head with a small smile. "Though I suppose I'm dressed up already, in a way."

It wasn't as if this form was his true self, for all that his clothes were nothing special. A pair of rolled up jeans, DMs, a t-shirt and denim jacket. Someone else might have felt chilly, but not him.

Athos was on duty. He attended the VIP masque because of some of the guests in attendance, and their political importance. Which meant that he was dressed in a sharp two-piece suit and wearing a lacey black and gold mask - and that he was carefully monitoring his alcohol intake. He was often found with a glass in his hand, but rarely drinking from it, although few people would have noticed that last bit.

He might be an alcoholic, but he was also a professional.

Milady had good reasons, work reasons, for not only attending the masque, but for the effort she'd put into her costume. She'd begun with a hooded gown in rich carmine, its assymmetric neckline drawing attention to her decolletage and away from the ribbon choker around her neck. With the hood drawn up over the touseled updo, she seemed to look out from shadow as though she was a mystery to be solved. Her face was covered by a silvered leather wolf mask, the eye holes perfectly shaped so they didn't interfere with her vision. She crossed to the bar as though she expected all eyes to be on her, and was pleased so many people complied.

As she waited for the bartender to make her French 95, she turned to watch the room. "I believe it will be quite the evening, don't you ?" she asked the person next to her.

Milady should have known Oliver would be here. The mask did little to hide features she had once known better than any. She had not sought him out since that day in the charity souk, and an anger so cold it could burn came to life again when she saw him now. Her hand went first to the ribbon at her throat, then higher to adjust the hood to obscure more of her face, although the mask covered most of it. Then, knowing she was playing with fire, she passed slowly through his line of sight.

Oliver had seen her in ways no one ever had, before or since, and as much as she would deny it, there was some part of Milady that craved his eyes on her and only her even now after everything.

Halloween was the one day of the year Sunny wore white.

That in and of itself might not sound like very much, but she did everything she could to play into her natural ghostly appearance--white dress, white shoes, white accessories, white purse (it wasn't, normally, only magically altered to be so), pale shimmer at her eyes, and her pale hair brushed out into the biggest cloud of afro she could make it. The only color to be had was the pale pink of her lips, the hazel of her eyes.

She knew exactly how striking it was. And she knew exactly what it made her look like. All day she saw people jump when they caught her out of the corner of their eye, and it made her smile.

Though if you asked, she'd say she was dressed as an exoticizing photo shoot.

((Find Sunny wherever. The tube, the coffee shop, university campus, whatever))

Oliver brought his wine glass to his lips, eyes casually going over the crowd, trusting his instincts to warn him if there was something wrong, something worth his attention. But the glass stopped halfway to his lips, and his gaze followed the figure in dark red. There was something about the stranger hidden under that hood; the way she held herself, and walked. Something that held his attention.

He followed, his glass forgotten in his hand, but lost her in the crowd, looking everywhere for the flash of carmine that might betray her.

Anael was simply walking down the street, in the usual sort of clothes he wore. Pop culture was not his forte, and he would have had no idea what to dress up as, even if he had realised what day today was before materialising on this plane. So he was simply walking around, trying to sort out what people were dressed up as, and mostly failing. That was when his gaze fell on a figure in all white, and the small smile on his lips stretched into a grin. "Sunny," he greeted her, the word sounding like more than her name. It sounded like a compliment, too. "You look wonderful," he added, perfectly honest.

Stopped at the bar, Milady ordered a glass of wine, thinking of the image she would make, with the color echoing the rich tones of her gown and deepening the red of her lips as she drank. She knew she had caught Oliver's eye, but pretending to be unaware meant she hadn't been able to watch his reaction. She'd lost track of him, which could be dangerous, but she also couldn't show she was looking for him. Fortunately, the ballroom had several reflective surfaces, and these she searched as she waited for her drink, hoping for any sign of her greatest enemy and once love.

"If anybody asks, tell 'em you're supposed to be Nobody Special," Coby suggested, making the capital letters audible. "That's the best part of Halloween. Dressing up as someone you aren't."

Spencer was, honestly, pretty terrifying all by herself, and the guy had already started to back away.

"He was just leaving," Spencer assured the stranger, watching as the Halloween creep nodded and skittered off. She still had murder in her eyes as she turned her attention to the newcomer, but they seemed to soften as she took a calming breath.

"Sorry, I get bit tense this time of year," she admitted, fighting a little, then caving and shoving her hand into her bag to break off a tiny bit of brownie to nibble on.

"Yeah, I've been told I'm pretty terrifying," Spencer replied, popping the bit of brownie into her mouth, then taking a sip of her drink. "I used to love Halloween. I once made a pretty accurate Mary Queen of Scots costume from scratch. If that's not dedication to a holiday, I don't know what is."

Sunny ruined the ghostly effect a bit by blushing. She normally brushed compliments off, since so many of the ones she received were along the lines of how exotic she looked. This... didn't sound like that. Nor was it one of the Phouka's flowery effusions. "You're very kind."

Athos found that shade of carmine at the bar, and did his best not to lose sight of her as he headed over, the wine glass forgotten in his hand. But some people stood between him and her at the least minute, and by the time he had managed to disentangle himself from the unwanted conversation, she was gone, and he was starting over again.

"And here I am, being lazy, using being on another continent as an excuse to recycle an old costume." Coby wasn't sure yet what he thought of her, but that didn't bother him. Meeting new people was part of the holiday.

"So what changed? From Mary Queen of Scots to terrifying Halloween hater."

"Jax Teller. Badass biker from a tv show." Coby couldn't really picture Anael liking Sons of Anarchy. Okay, so he couldn't really picture Anael watching tv, but definitely not SoA.

Milady had caught a glimpse of Oliver moving toward the bar, and she slipped away when she had the opportunity. Later, she wouldn't be able to say what possessed her to act on her next idea, but in the moment, she found the idea too tempting to resist.

As she touched up her lipstick in the ladies', she turned to the woman next to her, a feline glint in her eyes. "Would you mind terribly, doing me a favor?" The woman, a blonde, English rose type dressed as, of all things, a geisha, was thrilled by Milady's story of a masquerade flirtation and agreed enthusiastically.

Which was how, a few minutes later, one of the cater waiters approached Oliver with a glass of the same excellent Burgundy Milady was drinking and a cocktail napkin note written in the 'geisha's' hand. You are following me.

"Badass," Anael echoed, amused and unsure what to make of the word in relation to Coby.
