Gathering Post - Christmas Eve Party

Merry Christmas!

You are invited to celebrate the season with Finlay Flynn and Willy Silver.

 

When: Christmas Eve (5pm – Midnight)

Where: Making the Modern World - The Science Museum

Upon entry you'll be given a ticket for one free drink. All drinks after that are 5 each. There will also be a free buffet in the dining area.

 

Dress code: Casual, but tidy please!

 

Raffle: Come wearing a festive sweater and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 65 inch TV.

 

Donate: Bring three tins of canned food to be donated to the local food bank, and receive an extra drink ticket.

Look forward to: A live DJ, live music, an appearance by Santa, gift bags with deluxe swag, and the company of old and new friends!

 

(OTA! Happy holidays! If you know Fin, Willy, Phouka, or Winter, feel free to assume they gave you an invite. If not, you can say your pup got an invite through a friend of a friend, someone who knows someone, ect. It IS invite over (no gate crashing pups please, Fin's a giver and would want everyone to feel included), but the pups hosting the party are pretty active and I believe they know almost everyone in the game. And the people they don't know surely know people who do. Even if you only met them once, you got an invite somehow! This gathering post is open all week, and beyond!)

Felix had gotten a bit side-tracked on his way back to the bar, empty-handed and very interested in trying another of those festive cocktails. People in crowds moved in absolutely incomprehensible patterns, however, and Felix found himself on the opposite side of the room just attempting to maneuver around them. He'd just reached another impassible clump of humanity, and turned aside with a brief sigh, when he nearly bumped in to a be-sweatered solid brick of a fellow he didn't recognize.

Or did he? Felix took a half-step back and blinked, tilting his head as he took in the man's face. "Pardon me," the wizard said, polite, but more familiar than a perfect stranger might have been. "Have... have we met?"

He was fair used to the look of recognition in people's eyes, as well as the blush that coloured some cheeks when they realized who he was and that he would know what they watched on YouTube. It never bothered him, his channel was for education...just a special kind.

"I don't think so mate," he said and offered his hand. "I'm Hex."

That remarkably unusual name only made the man seem more familiar. Felix accepted a shake, firm despite the delicate feel of his hand. "Felix," he replied with a faint smile. "How rare to meet a fellow terminal 'x.' I don't suppose you're... on television? In the theater, like our dear host, Mister Flynn?"

"I've got a YouTube show," he replied, not embarrassed in the least. He was really quite proud of the show and happy it had as many viewers as it did. "BDSM how to. And I've been in the papers with Fin- the paps like to say we're more than friends, but we're not. He's with Will."

Felix's eyes lit with recognition instantly, and a flare of half-scandalized delight. "Of course. How could I forget? I've seen more of you than I've seen of some of my dearest friends," he chuckled. "I have to commend you, really. You're doing a public service, especially after that awful novel and film put ideas in people's heads."

"That's exactly why we made the show, to be honest. The women at me work were going on and on about that book and I read the first one of the series and I was horrified," he said. "It's not for everyone, but for those who want to try it, they should know how, but they also need to know why. I like putting it out. There's always something to go into detail about, and we get some great questions. The only hard part is keeping it within the terms of service so we don't get banned."

A light laugh rose, startled, to Felix's lips. "I hadn't thought of that, but now it seems so very obvious. You don't want it on the sites restricted to adults, you won't have the viewership. And it's not, well... if I recall correctly, the content is specifically not prurient. Your intent is instruction." He sounded actually quite approving.

Hex wasn't sure he knew what prurient meant but he got an idea of what Felix was saying. Sexy, or porny or the like.

"Exactly. That's why everyone wears clothes. And for things like cbt we use vegetables to demonstrate cock rings and the like," he said, remarkably at ease discussing this with a stranger.

Felix was likewise at ease, knowing that Hex was familiar with the BDSM world as he was. He knew how to speak to other dominants, though certainly neither of them had taken on such a role at that moment, in public. "A friend has recently expressed an interest. I expect your viewership will increase by at least one," Felix said with a flash of a brilliant smile.

"What do you do when you're not tying up vegetables, Mister Hex?"

"Me? Oh, I'm a nurse at st. Bart's in A&E," he replied. "If anyone's recognized me there, no one's said."

Felix's brows lifted with interest. "A nurse? Remarkable. You help people for a living, not just in your free time." He tipped his head, a smile blossoming slowly on his lips. "Please, tell me more admirable details about yourself."

"Not that much more that's interesting," he chuckled. "I was a combat medic during my time in the war, came back and got me degree and now I work. I play video games when I have free time."

...And I can't find a boyfriedn, he thought but didn't add.

Felix hardly seemed any less impressed. "A soldier, a scholar, a life-saver, an instructor of the hungry and longing," he summarized, each word chosen and spoken like a jewel. "That is quite a résumé, Mr. Hex."

"When you put it that way it sounds pretty nice," he smiled.

"And why not? You're your own best advertisement, darling," Felix said, glancing Hex up and down appraisingly -- but briefly. He wasn't here to ogle strangers. At least, not while Shannon might catch him at it. "Why not make yourself sound admirable when you are?"

"I don't know...always been a humble sort. Hard to make meself sound grand," he said with a shrug.

"Clearly I should be writing your brochures for you," Felix laughed, a beautiful little laugh that drew a glance or two from those nearby. "Or perhaps just your business cards." Of course, he was flirting, but it didn't seem serious. Flirting was a natural state for him.

"I'd take you up on that. I'm sure me manager would like me to get a little more publicity. He's brought the ad revenue in which is nice, and the more viewers I get the more money in me pocket...and his," he smiled, flirting in return in his subdued way.

Every flattened vowel, every 'me' instead of 'my', reminded Felix of his own rough accent from his younger days -- the one Malkar had trained (and beaten) out of him. He bit his tongue against correcting a total stranger on his grammar. "Social media stars have agents, now?" he asked instead, his surprise un-feigned.

"That's Fin's doing. Stanley is his agent and he took me on, too. Really made something of it," he replied happily.

"Ah, Stanley the agent," Felix sighed, exaggerating his apparent impatience. "Yes, I've met him. Briefly. His social graces leave something to be desired, but Finlay seems happy with him. And he clearly produces excellent work."

"He works hard but he does take a bit of getting used to," he replied, the insult softened to hardly anything and delivered with a smile.

Stanley the manager was the last thing Felix wanted to discuss. Tilting his head with interest, he asked, "So what comes next for you, in your long line of accomplishments?"

"I just pt a calendar for this coming year," he said. "And next year I'll be training for a bodybuilding championship."

"Two outstanding reasons to continue to follow your career," said Felix pleasantly. "And if I keep the calendar in my office, then I can prevent my lover from becoming too jealous."
