Gathering Post - Christmas Eve Party

Merry Christmas!

You are invited to celebrate the season with Finlay Flynn and Willy Silver.

 

When: Christmas Eve (5pm – Midnight)

Where: Making the Modern World - The Science Museum

Upon entry you'll be given a ticket for one free drink. All drinks after that are 5 each. There will also be a free buffet in the dining area.

 

Dress code: Casual, but tidy please!

 

Raffle: Come wearing a festive sweater and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 65 inch TV.

 

Donate: Bring three tins of canned food to be donated to the local food bank, and receive an extra drink ticket.

Look forward to: A live DJ, live music, an appearance by Santa, gift bags with deluxe swag, and the company of old and new friends!

 

(OTA! Happy holidays! If you know Fin, Willy, Phouka, or Winter, feel free to assume they gave you an invite. If not, you can say your pup got an invite through a friend of a friend, someone who knows someone, ect. It IS invite over (no gate crashing pups please, Fin's a giver and would want everyone to feel included), but the pups hosting the party are pretty active and I believe they know almost everyone in the game. And the people they don't know surely know people who do. Even if you only met them once, you got an invite somehow! This gathering post is open all week, and beyond!)

Sunny just grinned at him. "It's not cheap."

"I assume you mean the contents have a high retail value, right? Since the bags are free," Spencer said, unable to stop himself from being literal. "This whole party seems really expensive," he added quietly. "I almost feel like I shouldn't touch anything."

"I know what you mean," Sunny said softly, smoothing her hands down over her dress. "I almost didn't come, because I didn't have anything to wear. Luckily I had a friend to help me out there."

Spencer hadn't noticed her outfit- not because it wasn't nice, but because, well, he was Spencer. He noticed it now though, and he smiled brightly.

"You look really nice, Sunny. ...Not that you don't always look nice, just- This is, um... You look pretty." he finished awkwardly.

Sunny, perhaps appropriately, beamed. The upside of Spencer's awkward compliments was that she could tell he was completely sincere. Clumsy, sure, but that was always better than empty flattery. "That's sweet of you to say."

Spencer's smile brightened, and he relaxed a little, glad he hadn't said the wrong thing.

"Did you come with anyone?" he asked curiously.

"Eh, sort of." Sunny said with a shrug. "Like I said, friend of mine offered to help me out with clothes when he realized we were invited to the same event." She glanced around for Felix, and of course it didn't take much time or effort to single him out. "See the tall, skinny, skew-eyed redhead?"

There was love in that description. Really.

"Oh! Felix. We've met, actually. He's nice. ...Kind of thought he was, um- Gay," Spencer said, choosing his words carefully.

"Oh, he's extremely gay," Sunny laughed. "We're friends. Met and bonded over the fact that DNA will never let us escape people staring."

Spencer smiled at that, then nodded. "I thought maybe you meant he was your date," he admitted sheepishly.

"Nah." Sunny's lips curled in a wryly amused little smile. "It's been a while since I had one of those."

[dr_spencer_reid]

"Yeah, me too," Spencer admitted with a nervous laugh. "I thought... I kind of thought someone was going to ask me, but- They didn't," he shrugged.

Sunny brightened a little. "Oh yeah?" Undertone being, tell me more.

"My friend Hex," Spencer said, tucking his hair back behind his ears and fidgeting a little. "We go out sometimes. It's not serious, but... I guess I thought he'd want to come with me."

[akatawitch]

The idea of Spencer with a boyfriend--serious or not--was too adorable. "How long've you been going out?"

"Um, well, I haven't been out with him for a bit, but, we've been friends for over a year now," Spencer smiled.

[akatawitch]

Sunny thought about that for a second. "Have you asked him out?"

[dr_spencer_reid]

"He asked me out- And I... I told him I wasn't ready," Spencer admitted sheepishly.

[akatawitch]

"Well," Sunny's eyebrows arched up gently. "Maybe that's why he didn't ask."

[dr_spencer_reid]

"I know. I know- I just... It's stupid," Spencer said awkwardly. "I guess I was just hoping he'd try."

[akatawitch]

"Oh honey," Sunny half sighed and half laughed. "Maybe you should ask him sometime, then."

[dr_spencer_reid]

Spencer blushed slightly, then shrugged. "Maybe," he agreed with a small and awkward smile.

Sunny's mouth twisted in a teasing smile. "Oh, that's the kind of maybe that totally means, 'no, but I'll say it to make you stop.'"

Spencer blushed again, looking down at his hands. "I just feel strange asking him on a date when I know I'm not ready for anything serious."

Sunny allowed herself to think of Phouka for one second before pushing the thought away, lest she start blushing herself. "As long as he knows you're not ready to be serious...?" she trailed off.
