Gathering Post - Christmas Eve Party

Merry Christmas!

You are invited to celebrate the season with Finlay Flynn and Willy Silver.

 

When: Christmas Eve (5pm – Midnight)

Where: Making the Modern World - The Science Museum

Upon entry you'll be given a ticket for one free drink. All drinks after that are 5 each. There will also be a free buffet in the dining area.

 

Dress code: Casual, but tidy please!

 

Raffle: Come wearing a festive sweater and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 65 inch TV.

 

Donate: Bring three tins of canned food to be donated to the local food bank, and receive an extra drink ticket.

Look forward to: A live DJ, live music, an appearance by Santa, gift bags with deluxe swag, and the company of old and new friends!

 

(OTA! Happy holidays! If you know Fin, Willy, Phouka, or Winter, feel free to assume they gave you an invite. If not, you can say your pup got an invite through a friend of a friend, someone who knows someone, ect. It IS invite over (no gate crashing pups please, Fin's a giver and would want everyone to feel included), but the pups hosting the party are pretty active and I believe they know almost everyone in the game. And the people they don't know surely know people who do. Even if you only met them once, you got an invite somehow! This gathering post is open all week, and beyond!)

"Yeah, me too," Spencer admitted with a nervous laugh. "I thought... I kind of thought someone was going to ask me, but- They didn't," he shrugged.

Sunny brightened a little. "Oh yeah?" Undertone being, tell me more.

"My friend Hex," Spencer said, tucking his hair back behind his ears and fidgeting a little. "We go out sometimes. It's not serious, but... I guess I thought he'd want to come with me."

The idea of Spencer with a boyfriend--serious or not--was too adorable. "How long've you been going out?"

"Um, well, I haven't been out with him for a bit, but, we've been friends for over a year now," Spencer smiled.

[akatawitch]

Sunny thought about that for a second. "Have you asked him out?"

[dr_spencer_reid]

"He asked me out- And I... I told him I wasn't ready," Spencer admitted sheepishly.

[akatawitch]

"Well," Sunny's eyebrows arched up gently. "Maybe that's why he didn't ask."

[dr_spencer_reid]

"I know. I know- I just... It's stupid," Spencer said awkwardly. "I guess I was just hoping he'd try."

[akatawitch]

"Oh honey," Sunny half sighed and half laughed. "Maybe you should ask him sometime, then."

[dr_spencer_reid]

Spencer blushed slightly, then shrugged. "Maybe," he agreed with a small and awkward smile.

Sunny's mouth twisted in a teasing smile. "Oh, that's the kind of maybe that totally means, 'no, but I'll say it to make you stop.'"

Spencer blushed again, looking down at his hands. "I just feel strange asking him on a date when I know I'm not ready for anything serious."

Sunny allowed herself to think of Phouka for one second before pushing the thought away, lest she start blushing herself. "As long as he knows you're not ready to be serious...?" she trailed off.

"I think he does," Spencer replied, though he honestly wasn't sure, and he didn't want to be the one to bring it up.

Sunny chewed her lip in thought for a moment. "I don't have much experience to draw on in the realm of romantic relationships, but... I think I can still pretty safely say that nothing happens if you're not willing to say something."

"I just- I know he wants something serious," Spencer explained. "And I don't want him to get the wrong idea. I'm not ready for that- Not with him, but anyone, honestly. Especially since I don't know how much longer I'm going to stay in London."

[akatawitch]

"Well, that's where frank discussion comes in." Sunny pointed out. "You know he wants something serious, he knows you don't. You figure out what to do from there. I'm not saying that's not kind of terrifying, but it's better than guessing."

Spencer nodded, but honestly just thinking about having a talk like that was a little overwhelming.

"I guess," he agreed, knowing she was right.

Sunny nudged him companionably with her elbow. "You'll be okay. And if not, you've got friends who'll make sure you are." She would, certainly.

Spencer's smile warmed at that, and he blushed as he nodded.

"Yeah? ...Yeah, I guess I really should talk to him."

"Yep," Sunny agreed.

Her eyes were drifting back to the dancing, but she brought her attention back to ask, "You all right?"

"I am," Spencer assured her. "You don't have to hang out with me, Sunny- It's okay if you want to go dance," he added.

Sunny's smile was pure mischief. "Join me?"

Spencer looked hesitant, blushing slightly, then shrugging and nodding.

"Okay, but I'll warn you now, I'm not a very good dancer."
