It had taken considerably longer than Robin anticipated, thanks to some building code issues that had pushed back his renovations by months, but following the thrown together "preview" on New Year's Eve (that had gone very well if he did say so himself), Saturnalia was finally officially open for business.
The inside of the club looked somewhat different than it had in January: more polished now, better decorations, furniture, lighting. There was still Greek inspiration, particularly in the murals on the walls - modern, graffiti-inspired versions of Greek art and myths, bright colors splashed amidst chrome industrial decor. Most of the employees (bartenders, dancers) were wearing togas.
The grand opening was a hot ticket, but Robin had sent out invitations generously, and instructed the bouncers at the door to let in the beautiful people as usual, yes, but to be rather random about it as well. After all, what was the fun in only the rich and beautiful?
Alcohol was free flowing, and the music was hot, spun by a DJ on a stage who seemed to have the perfect sense of the crowd. He may have even had a little help by magic. Because why leave these things to chance?

Date: 2016-06-12 02:41 am (UTC)Quite the reverse, really. He'd come out here for a half-decent night and he wasn't about to be played with, like all the other people Sirius seduced and slept with and moved on from. If he'd expressed any interest in someone for more than just sex, maybe just maybe Remus might have dared to express a feeling, but it was very clear that Sirius Black did not do feelings.
Instead he reached up to tangle fingers in that silky hair, and firmly, slowly tugged Sirius away to gaze into his eyes with just a hint of pain, and cold anger too. "No," Remus told him, quiet but unmistakably an order, and pulled Sirius away from him, his mouth working to suppress more of the injury he felt, before finally settling on a thin line. "You've got lots of toys to play with, Pads. Don't be greedy." The threat in the steel of his tone was unmistakable, and after a few more moments of staring into Sirius' eyes to see if his words had made an impact, Remus let go of his hair and left him at the bar without another word. Depriving Sirius of attention was the cruelest form of punishment he knew.

Date: 2016-06-30 11:14 am (UTC)Sirius' expression went from a disappointed pout to a nearly-stricken look at Remus' words. None of his sexual partners were toys to him, but the idea that he could ever think of Remus as such...it made his heart hurt.
Before he could find the words to protest, to even try to refute such an absurd claim, though, Remus was walking away, and all Sirius could do was watch. He knew there was no point in trying to follow, and so once Remus had disappeared into the masses enjoying their night, he turned and slumped against the bar, head in his hands, for a long moment before straightening enough to order the drink he'd originally come for, although making it a double hadn't been in the plan until just that moment.
