Be Mine - Valentine's Day 2017

Lucky in love or not, London was a lovely place to find yourself on Valentine's Day. From romantic walks through various parks, to intimate dinners or shared deserts in the many restaurants and cafe's- There was something for everyone, because if wandering or dining wasn't for you, well, there were plenty of organised events to attend.

London couldn't claim to be the city of love, but it was certainly a city of possibilities.

"A coat," he repeated softly. He nodded once, then reached up to rub his eyes. "That's a good idea. I think he's had the coat he wears for a good, long time. Maybe it's time for something new."

He thought then of Danny, of the shape of him, and his style. It would have to be just right. Just right. Hex wanted him to love it and wear it and, yes, think of him when he did.

Fin knew him so well. So well he could tell him what to get for his own bloody boyfriend.

Fin nodded a little, then looked back at Will.

"I should go. I- I'll see you, Hex."

[willysilver]

"Yeah, I'll see, Fin," Hex said, then he wandered away, this time with a clear head.

Willy leaned against a pole, scrolling through his phone as he waited. News, news, videos of puppies and kittens...

He looked up when he caught sight of Hex leaving. Then he pushed off the pole and long strides carried him to Fin.

"Better now?" he asked.

"No," Fin replied bluntly, holding Will's gaze for a moment, then sighing. "There's no way you thought that was acceptable. What the hell were you thinking?"

[willysilver]

"That you should not fight, that he should not fight," Willy replied. "He is your true friend. I ache to see the two of you together with anger between you. And so I made him leave. It may not be acceptable, but I felt it was right."

[prince_of_nymphs]

Fin did not look convinced.

"So you attacked him?" he asked, one brow raised. "...Whatever, Will. Let's just go home."

[willysilver]

"That was hardly an attack," he replied. "He was not harmed. I find it unfair you think the worst of me. I only wanted to protect you. From Hex and from yourself."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"He was in pain," Fin countered, "And I don't need protecting from Hex- The only time I have was thanks to your magic, remember? If you really want to protect me, then the right way would be to keep your magic out of our friendship, Will. ...Besides, sometimes you have to fight with the people you love. It stops things from getting toxic."

[willysilver]

Willy was quiet and thoughtful for a moment. Ultimately he sighed and shook his head.

"I have watched mortals fight for centuries and I have never seen it stop anything other than goodwill. It opens a wound that never heals," he said.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I don't care. Don't attack my friends, even if you think it's for my own good," Fin said bluntly- Since blunt was the only way to be with Will it seemed, when it came to things like this. "It's controlling and I don't like it."

[willysilver]

The fae nodded then. Direct and firm, Fin's words struck him and stuck. No subterfuge or metaphor. He did not like it. That...that Willy could understand and obey.

"I will never do it again," he promised. "May I now escort you home?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Still haven't gotten you a gift though," Fin sighed. "That's the real reason I was out, actually. I've been looking for days, but- You sort of don't want for much, you know? Haven't had a clue what to get you. I keep looking for something special. Something unique."

[willysilver]

"I do not require gifts, Fin," Willy chuckled. "I have you in my heart and by my side. What more could I want for?"

He paused.

"Coffee might be nice. Why not buy me a coffee?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I know you don't need gifts, but- Well, whatever. Coffee is a start, I suppose. Whatever you like," Fin offered, still a bit cross but trying to let it go.

[willysilver]

Willy was thoughtful and quiet as he walked along, his arm draped lazily around Fin's shoulders.

"But you would like to give me gifts," he said. "That is your 'whatever'. I see no reason you could not give me anything you fancied. I would love it because it came from you."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"It's not that, I just- Want things to feel normal again. I want our relationship to be normal. Healthy," Fin said softly, leaning slightly into the other fae.

[willysilver]

"And what is normal and healthy?" he asked curiously. To his mind it sounded silly, a bit, considering they were, each alone and as a couple, not remotely 'normal'.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I don't know," Fin sighed. "I really don't."

[willysilver]

"Hmm. Perhaps we should begin with healthy. Normal does not suit the likes of us," Willy said gently. "Healthy, though. That is talking, yes? And not using my power. That is a good place to begin."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yeah. Yeah, that's a good place to start," Fin nodded, resting against Will as they walked.

[willysilver]

"Good," he replied merrily, happy he had found the answer to the problem. Too often it seemed he only made things worse when he spoke.

"There is a cafe," he said, pointing well down the street. The smell drifted toward them on the breeze.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yeah? Looks open too," Fin nodded, hooking his arm through the other fae's and headed for it.

[willysilver]

Willy smiled and headed for the door. Once there, he gallantly held it open for Fin.

"We should sit in the back," he said. "That one, back there."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Wherever you like. You get the table, I'll get us each a latte," Fin suggested, releasing the last of his anger with a sigh, then leaning in to kiss Will's cheek.

Will made his way to the table and sat down, long legs splayed out under the table. He watched Fin closely from across the cafe. Every movement, every shift of posture, every expression.
