Gathering Post - Christmas Eve Party

Merry Christmas!

You are invited to celebrate the season with Finlay Flynn and Willy Silver.

 

When: Christmas Eve (5pm – Midnight)

Where: Making the Modern World - The Science Museum

Upon entry you'll be given a ticket for one free drink. All drinks after that are 5 each. There will also be a free buffet in the dining area.

 

Dress code: Casual, but tidy please!

 

Raffle: Come wearing a festive sweater and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 65 inch TV.

 

Donate: Bring three tins of canned food to be donated to the local food bank, and receive an extra drink ticket.

Look forward to: A live DJ, live music, an appearance by Santa, gift bags with deluxe swag, and the company of old and new friends!

 

(OTA! Happy holidays! If you know Fin, Willy, Phouka, or Winter, feel free to assume they gave you an invite. If not, you can say your pup got an invite through a friend of a friend, someone who knows someone, ect. It IS invite over (no gate crashing pups please, Fin's a giver and would want everyone to feel included), but the pups hosting the party are pretty active and I believe they know almost everyone in the game. And the people they don't know surely know people who do. Even if you only met them once, you got an invite somehow! This gathering post is open all week, and beyond!)

"Well... Yes, sort of. Yeah," Fin admitted awkwardly. "I've never spent this much money before in my life. It was a good year for me though, and I wanted to share that."

"Of course you did," Jag stated with a warm smile, and clapped him on the back. "No way you're buying me a drink though, not tonight. Come on, my treat." He'd paid for everything else, after all.

"Absolutely not. My night, my treat, no arguing," Fin said firmly. "Besides, I owe you. I wasn't... I wasn't myself last time I saw you, and you took care of me. That means a lot to me."

"You'd have done the same," Jag retorted with a shake of his head, smiling slightly. "You did do the same. First time we met? I wasn't in a bad sort like you were, but a bad sort all the same. I'm just glad I was able to help, yeah?"

"I'm still grateful," Fin assured him. "...And I'm sorry if I was a bit of a twat," he added as they reached the bar.

"What are you having then?"

Jag ducked his head on a chuckle when Fin stubbornly stuck with the programme, and gave up. "I'm getting the next one," he warned him. "A stout, I'll have a stout." Jag waited until Fin had ordered their drinks, then he leaned against the bar, watching him. "You weren't, you know. A twat. Well, I wasn't exactly sober, so if you were, I don't really remember."

"Well, that's a relief," Fin smiled. "I don't- I don't really get high any more. I did a lot, before- Then I lost my eyes and slowed down, but... It's hard. I'm easily tempted."

"That night wasn't the right night for you," Jag stated with a small shrug. "Maybe - don't do it alone, yeah? Not without friends around." He didn't like to think of the possibility that he had not run into Fin.

"Yeah," Fin agreed, scratching the back of his neck nervously. "I was lucky I went home with you, not the wrong sort."

"Well, ring me next time, yeah?" Jag offered. "I'll make sure the wrong sort don't get near you. And being with friends - less likely to spin out of your mind in the first place."

"Yeah?" Fin smiled. "You're a good man, Jag. The best sort, you know?"

He smiled brighter then, patting Jag's cheek and giving him a friendly kiss before picking up both their drinks from the bar and passing Jag's over.

"Cheers," Jag said with a smile, glad for the distraction from how good a man he might or might not be, and tipped his glass against Fin's. "And here's to your party."

Fin grinned at that, and nodded. "It's a good party. I'm glad I picked this place and not a stuffy hotel."

"I didn't even know museums did this kind of thing," Jag admitted. Well, Val's did, but that was different. It was for his own parties, for one thing, as far as Jag knew.

"Oh, yeah. Not all of them, but yeah. I've a mate who got married in one," Fin smiled.

"I've always reckoned weddings were best out in the open air," Jag admitted with a small smile, and reached out to draw Fin out of the way as someone walked over to the bar to order.

"Yeah? You dreaming up your wedding already?" Fin teased, letting himself be tugged out of the way.

Jag laughed at the notion, and shook his head. "I'm incapable of not fucking up a good thing, it turns out. Not sure a wedding's at all in my future."

"You never know," Fin smiled, in far too good a mood to think anything but the best. "Things have a way of working out, Jag. They really do."

"I won't hold my breath," Jag answered with a shrug, still smiling. And neither would Kennick and Drina, he hoped. "Just make the most of the good things while I have them, yeah?"

Fin smiled brightly at that and nodded. "Yeah," he agreed. "I think that's a sound approach to life."

He looked out at the dance floor, grinning brightly again. "Have you danced yet? We should dance."

"I'm going to need a lot more booze before I feel like dancing," Jag assured Fin with raised eyebrows, and an amused smirk. Or maybe just the right song, but he doubted that next up were Roma tunes.

"Oh, come on, it'll be a laugh," Fin insisted. "Please?" he added, looking hopeful.

"No, seriously, the puppy eyes aren't fair," Jag laughed, and drained the last of his beer to abandon his glass on the nearest table. And give in, obviously. That look was just not fair.

Fin beamed, pleased to have won, and knocked back his own drink before catching both of Jag's hands with his own.

"Playing fair's overrated. Come on, I love this one!" he smiled as Wizzard's 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' came on.
